JewelHeart's ears twitched as she listened to the brisk wind climbing through the trees. Her eyes darted back and forth, scanning the area before exiting the clan borders. She had agreed to meet him here, against her better judgement. JewelHeart could sense he was up to something, but couldn't back up her beliefs.
Calmly JewelHeart trotted past the nofur's den, carefully avoiding the marked spots the kittypet had drawn around his territory; not wanting to pick a fight. Eventually, she made her way to the spot they had agreed to meet at.
The tall oak tree sat high above the rest of the trees comfortably, the twisted branches providing a slight shade for her. The roots were large, the mid section of each was easily comparable to the size of JewelHeart.
Quietly tasting the air for his scent, JewelHeart's pulse spiked slightly. He was close. She could feel the hair beginning to stand on end at the edge of her spine as a twig snapped nearby. The noise echoed noisily throughout the forest as the dark haired Tom appeared.
"You're here," He purred showing obvious surprise at her punctuality.
JewelHeart nodded firmly, suppressing a growl that had begun to form in her chest. Instead she cleared her throat motioning for him to join her beneath the tree.
"Why did you want me to come here?" She pondered, her raspy voice quivering slightly.
He only smiled slimming his way around the roots swiftly. Soon he appeared before her brushing softly against her pelt. JewelHeart tenderly pushed him away and took a step back.
"Answer me BloodScar."
The slinky Tom halted at the sound of his name being uttered by the beautiful red haired cat in front of him. BloodShot tilted his head and sat down doubtlessly.
"To talk," he spoke quietly, but with a slight urgency to his words.
JewelHeart rolled her eyes, shifting her stance slightly, "i had already assumed that. How much of a numb skull do you think I am?"
"Do I answer that honestly?"
JewelHeart only hissed in response to his witty comment.
"You know what I brought you here for," BloodScar murmured, flicking his tail with annoyance.
JewelHeart's eyes widened as she began to back away again.
"I thought you were done with that."
BloodScar smiled maliciously, tracing a design into the soft base of the root with his claws, "well I guess you see what thought did for you."
JewelHeart felt her heart leap to her throat as she lunged towards him, taking a swift swing at his head; barely nicking his ear. He reared up onto his hind legs as he swiped her muzzle, his claws sheathed. Ears back against her head, she let loose a yowl and rolled into him landing a blow to his right shoulder. The gash wasn't very deep, but was just deeo enough to distract him for a moment as she jumped off of him.
Taking a moment to catch her breath, JewelHeart stood behind a larger root to maintain her distance from him. BloodShot chuckled darkly before unseating his claws. She could hear him taking his claws over the wood of the tree as he came closer.
"Here kitty kitty," BloodScar hummed, looking at JewelHeart through the breaks in the roots.
Scrambling for an idea, JewelHeart looked around frantically. Seeing a rock, she grabbed it quickly and prayed on behalf of Starclan that her plan would work. Quickly she hopped out from behind her root, pinning the dazed Tom to the ground. She rose her head up towards the sky, the rock clasped between her teeth as she began to bring it down on his head when she heard him whimper something.
Pausing for a moment, he repeated himself, "i thought you loved me."
The rock fell from her mouth, slamming down into the ground harshly.
JewelHeart scanned his face, looking for a trace of malice or dishonesty, but could only find a slight burst of love in his gaze. Her heart surged for a moment, 'through all of this, he still loves me.' She thought to herself, beginning to smile. Fighting the smile, she forced herself to growl, meaning it to be menacing but it only came out as a measly mewl.
Before she could even register it, she was suddenly beneath him; struggling to get out. BloodShot's grip was firm, no amount of squirming could coax her out of his grasp.
He leaned in, his breath tickling her whiskers, "just as trusting as always."
BloodScar sunk his claws into her flesh, causing JewelHeart to since in pain, "I really do love you, you know." His tail dragged through the dirt tracing circles into the ground as he laid his head on her chest. "Its such a shame that you won't help me, we could've been wonderful together." His tail stopped. "Oh well, should've could've would've. Let's just let bygones be bygones." He stopped looking at JewelHeart for a moment as he cast his yellow eyes towards the sky.
JewelHeart took his moment of distraction to flip him over, slashing his belly open doing so. The look on his face was that of horror and fascination all in one as he gazed at her blood ridden paw to his own stomach pumping out a large pool of blood and seeping over his fur.
JewelHeart hung her head gasping, attempting to regain her breath. She scattered over to his side, casting a sad gaze over his body. She could see that he was fighting for breath but couldn't hold onto the air. Slowly but surely, she could see his eyes glazing over as she looked at him once more.
BloodScar was dead.
