The boy sat in the back of the room, burying his head in his hands, silently sobbing to himself. What had Caspian Carter become? Nothing but an empty shell of his former self.

He had arrived at the building at just the right time, the service had just started. He had begged his mother not to let him do this, but she had said it was for his own good. How was this for his own good? Making him suffer like this was not for his own good. It certainly did not help him get over it.

Over the past 3 days that it had happened, Caspian had stayed in his room, not leaving once, not even to eat. When he finally left the room, he had dark circles under his eyes, pale skin, and his hair was a mess. He was not ready to go the service. Not now. It was too soon. Maybe he could visit the cemetery.

At the end of the ceremony, people usually got up to see the dead body. It was a strange thing to do, but he did it too. Even before he reached the casket, he saw her, and he broke down. He dropped to his knees and cried "Lexi...."
