Jazper sat on one side of the booth while her date, Sami, sat on the other. She could already tell he was feeling just as uncomfortable as she was even though they were only five minutes into the date.
Instead of sitting in total silence for another fifty-five minutes, Jaz pulled out her phone and started texting.
“Jazper!” Sami shouted. Jaz jolted at the sudden remark as her phone was grabbed out of her hands.
She looked at him with disbelief. “Excuse me?” She breathed.
“You can’t text during a date!” He exclaimed.
“Who said this was ever a date?” Jaz countered.
Sami looked at her as if she was the world’s biggest idiot, “You literally said, and I quote, ‘So it’s a date?’ and I said, ‘Sure, it’s a date.’” He blatantly stated.
“Well not anymore! Good bye, Sami. Oh, and have fun failing your geometry test, cause I happen to know your tutor, Cassie, really well!” Jaz said triumphantly as she got up from her seat. With one toss of her hair over her shoulder, she strode out of the fast food restaurant. “Wendy’s, who in the world picks Wendy’s?” She muttered.
As she sashayed out the door, all Sami could do was stare at his unbelievably flawless, now ex-girlfriend.
“Alright Sami, it’s time to find a new girlfriend,” He said to himself, “one that will last more than twenty-four hours.”

“Quit staring at me you big lug!” Dillan Jaxon said sitting on his bed. He playfully pushed his at-the-moment-companion aside. “Talking to the cat again, Dill?” A voice said. Dill immediately knew who it was. He slowly turned towards the voice, “Well I happen to think that Custard makes an excellent go-to cat at any time of day.” He said as-a-matter-of-factly.
The voice came out from the doorway and a sixteen-year-old Caden Jaxon was standing in front of him. “What do you want little bro?”
“You know, I’m not even a year younger than you. You don’t really have to call me ‘little bro’. We’re both sixteen right now. You do remember that we are both sixteen, right?” Caden asked still a little uncertain that is own brother knew his own age.
All Caden got in return was a light chuckle, “Caden, I don’t even remember what my cat’s name is sometimes.” Custard growled at this remark. Dill turned to the cat still sprawled out on the bed from the light shove he had delivered earlier. “No offense, Cuss.” Custard completely ignored the somewhat of an apology that Dill gave her and started to slowly move out of the room.
Dill collapsed on the bed behind him and turned his attention back to his younger brother who spread his arms and grinned at the action. Dill groaned. “What am I ever going to do with you?”
