Felicia's POV
"beep beep beep beep" The annoying sound of my alarm clock wakes me up out of a deep sleep. Without bothering to look at what I am doing, I start whacking the top of my clock with my hand in an effort to turn it off. Finally, after much effort, my hand hits the off switch, instantly muting it. I turned over on my back and stared at my dull, white ceiling. I groan when I realize...today was Monday. I get to look forward to a whole week of school. Yay....(I was being sarcastic in case you didn't know).
School wasn't THAT bad...I guess. It was ok except for this one girl, Cate. Everybody practically worshipped her. I found this very dumb and refused to do it. Because of this, she hates me. I swear she lays awake at night trying to make my life a living hell. I guess I'm not like most people who are bullied, though. Most people will say nothing when others do things to them. Not me. Usually I will just laugh it off whenever she throws insults at me, trips me in the hallway, or shoves food in my face during lunch. I guess that could be a good thing, but not for me. What she says really gets to me, and as a result my self confidence is at an all-time low. Oh well...
I reluctantly pushed the covers off of my body and swung my feet onto the floor. I scanned room. It was simple, nothing fancy, and not very big. The walls were painted a light purple and I had a small closet, a dresser, and a twin sized bed placed neatly in the room. I usually tried my best to keep it clean, but more times than not I would fail at this.
I quickly picked out a somewhat presentable outfit for the day and headed for the bathroom. I took my clothes off stepped into the shower. The pleasantly warm water hit my body instantly soothing it. I could probably spend hours in here if it weren't for the fact that I would come out like a shriveled up prune.
After my shower, I blow-dried and straightened my hair. Then I stopped. I looked at myself in the mirror. I was about 5'5", I had brown hair that was pretty long, and hazel eyes. I was 17 and was an only child. My dad died when I was little so I just had my mom, who, although was very strict at times, loved me very much. There wasn't really anything that interesting about me. I just sorta blended in with the crowd I guess.
Once I was satisfied with the way I looked, I grabbed a pair of shoes and my phone and headed downstairs for breakfast. I could already smell my mom cooking french toast...yum!
"Hey mom," I said as I gave her a hug.
"Hey sweetie. How are you?" she asked.
"Ok" I grabbed a plate from the cabinet and took a piece of french toast. "This is so good. Thanks Mom." I said as I shoved a bite in my mouth.
"You're welcome" she said.
I watched as she just finished washing the dishes and putting them away.
"Alright, I gotta leave for work. Can you do your dishes for me?" she asked grabbing her purse and keys.
"Sure" I said.
"Ok. Bye. Have a good day" my mom said as she walked out the door.
"You too" I yelled after her.
After finishing my breakfast and doing the dishes, I grabbed my stuff which included my phone, purse, keys, and any homework and walked out to my car. Again, it was nothing fancy, just got me to and from school.
The ride to school didn't take that long. I pulled into the parking lot and parked my car. Well here goes nothin...
As I walk in I see a whole crowd of people gathered around Cate. I roll my eyes. She probably had some new designer purse or accessory that her little servants were gushing over. Whatever.
"Hey Ugly" she yelled to me. Instantly the crowd around her turned and started laughing at me.
"Nice to see you to, Cate." I replied trying not to let her words get to me.
"Hey! I'm having a party later. You should come. Oh right, we have a NO LOSERS ALLOWD policy. Sorry" she sneered earning more laughs from her pets.
It was then that everything went wrong. On girl stuck the gum that she had been chewing into my hair. Then everybody else started throwing whatever messy or sticky substance they could find at me. I tried to duck and hurry out of the circle of people that engulfed me, but I failed. I just waited until they either got bored or ran out of stuff to throw.
When everyone was gone I quickly hurried to the bathroom and looked at my self in the mirror. I was completely covered from my waist up in a mixture of gum, whipped cream, dirt, paint (don't asks me where that came from), and a few pieces of candy here and there. It took me half an hour just to get the glop off my face let alone my hair and anywhere else it would be.
I put my back against the wall and slid down so I was sitting on the floor. I started sobbing. Why did this have to happen to me? I never did anything to her other than refuse to be part of her little group. I was tired of the constant bullying. It needed to stop.
I happened to glance over and, through my tears, caught the glint of something metal reflect the light in the corner of the room. I looked more closely and saw what looked like a razor blade...
