//so here's a story thing for annie and hitch aka one of my fav aot ships.
not sure if I'll post this of not but it's just an angsty thing mixed with other things ig because I'm good at that kinda stuff
AOT SPOILERS FOR MANGA AND ANIME WILL VERY LIKELY BE IN THIS FIC.
also a possible tw for what might happen later.
no idea how many chapters this will have,, I also haven't wrote anything and this is my first time seriously writing smth from aot so don't judge me lmao//

hitch gazed out the window. it was nighttime, and she was sitting up in annie's bed, next to annie, who was currently asleep. she studied the dark, starry sky for a few moments, before turning to look at the shorter girl. she looked at her, and a smile crossed her face. annie was a pretty sleeper. she'd gotten used to her kicking and sleep talking by now, but it still bugged her now and again. she was happy annie was back. despite the well..fight they had when annie first exited her crystal, everything had been good between the two former roommates. she'd even got to learn more about annie. though the other girl was pretty quiet, hitch was the one annie talked to the most. likely the most she trusted. hitch trusted annie too. she'd trust annie with anything. she'd even sacrifice herself for annie, honestly. annie was basically the only person she had left. after marlo had died, she had nobody to talk to besides annie. and so she had talked to annie for a whole four years.
she kept staring at annie, slowly closing her eyes. she thought a bit more, and a question struck her mind.
'am I in love with her?'

annie woke up a few hours later, yawning. she glanced next to her, to see hitch was gone. she slightly furrowed her brows, feeling a bit disappointed on the inside. had hitch just left her? she simply gave a small huff, and decided to wait. she doubted hitch had just left. hitch wouldn't do that to her.
she did wait, and as she did, she watched the sun start to rise.
after what was minutes that felt like hours, annie heard the door open, and she turned her head around to see hitch. she couldn't help but smile very subtly. "hey. hitch." she said. she then saw hitch was holding something, and hesitantly asked. "what are you holding?"
hitch grinned a bit. "you like donuts and cats, right?" she then walked up to annie.
"I drew this cat for you. I know. I'm not the best artist, but I hope you like it. also, here some donuts." she passed her the two gifts for her.
annie took them, with a slight look of surprise. she'd never really gotten any gifts before. but she was happy that she got it. she looked up at hitch, and nodded. "thanks." she murmured.
hitch went over to sit next to her on the bed, as annie gazed at the picture, and started eating one of the donuts. she looked at hitch, and offered her a donut.
hitch blinked a bit, and accepted it. "oh. thanks annie." she said, taking a bite out of the donut. "woah- these are way better than I thought they'd be. now I know why you like these so much..." she mumbled.
"yeah. they're really good." annie replied.
after an awkward silence of just eating the rest of the donuts, hitch took a deep breath. "uh. annie...? I....I have something to tell you." she sounded slightly nervous.
annie turned to her, raising a brow. "hm?" she looked at her.
hitch silently hoped that this wasn't going to be a bad idea. she really hoped annie wouldn't hate her for this. she just felt the need to do this now. she had to get it out now that she knew that she really did feel the way she did.
"annie. I'm in love with you."

//CLIFFHANGER IK IM EVIL,, THIS IS KINDA SUPERRR SHORT BUT IM ALSO LAZY. there will likely be A TON of pain in future chapters just a heads-up anyways I hope u liked this first chapter. I'll try making future ones a bit longer it just sorta depends on my motivation. this story is not spell checked btw lol//
