CONFESSION#9: IDOLS OVER CHOCOLATES OR MAYBE BOTH
After 100 years, I have finally set foot to the Land of the Rising Sun.
Kiddin. Its only 3 in the afternoon.
Ohemgee.
I'm soooo inlove with the Narita International Airport!
Usually, I don't like airports coz they have this stiff and often times, very professional kind of environment but this one's very different.
They've decorated their office for the Valentine's Day.
It's full of flowers, heart- shaped balloons and people handing out chocolates/flowers to the newly arrived passengers. And Code Red posters.
And ofcourse, Code Red fangirls.
I was so engrossed looking at them, patiently waiting for the band, that I didn't notice that I was about to collide with the airport guard.
"Oops, Gomen Nasai (Sorry).", I said complete with a bow. Inner Otaku unleased.
The guard looked surprised when he said, "Nihongo shaberu no? (You know how to speak japanese?)"
Based on my vast knowledge of the japanese language, which I learned from watching loads of anime, I've deducted that he is asking if I know how to speak their native language.
"Uh, no. I only understand a few of your words coz I love watching anime."
"Sou desu ka? (Is that so?) Good, good. Not lots of people know nihonggo. Very hard to talk to them."
"Hai, hai. (Yes, yes) But I love how japanese people speaks. Its very calming. That's why I watch animes and japanese dramas. How long has been those people staying here?", I asked pointing to the fangirls armed with overnight duffel bags and such.
"Since this morning. Waiting for a band. Code Red. We don't know what time they will arrive."
Good thing I've practiced my japanese hearing skills or else I would find this conversation very difficult to understand.
"Sou desu ka? I want to see them too but I have to go to work. I'm waiting for my employer's instructions now."
"Okay. I need to go and check on those girls. Here is a flower for you. Happy Valentine's day from everybody here in Narita International Airport. Have a nice day!", he said while handling me a single red rose.
"Arigatou! (Thank you)"
As if on cue, I received a viber message from an unregistered number:
"This is Katarina. Are you already at the airport? Just take the train going to Tokyo. There's one that leaves within the hour. I'd have someone fetch you at the station. Thanks"
Wow. Is it just me or did that message seem rude??
I was contemplating what to reply to the IM when I suddenly looked up and there was.. Adrian. Joke. There was a boy, a very tall teenager more likely, infront of me with a bright smile on his face.
All I could think of that moment was 'Please don't let him be one of the psychopaths I see in the movies. I don't want to be his victim'. Yep, I've watched too much CSI recently. My mind was busy with its mental ranting that I didn't hear what he was saying to me.
'Come again? Sorry I was thinking about something. I didn't catch what you were saying.', I politely told him.
'It's fine. I said someone wanted to give you this', he said in perfect english while handing me a small box of what I presume is a chocolate.
