Marley woke up to a few hundred text. Very, very intrusive texts. Allison had been texting her asking if she was okay, and then telling her that Lydia had translated the Bestiary. Stiles was the one who was spamming her phone, surprise surprise, saying that him and Scott found Jackson at the police station and that he now had a restraining order against the two knuckleheads. What the weirdest thing was though, was that Marley woke up in her bed. She could have sworn that she fell asleep at the foot of it, but woke up tucked into the duvet.

...

Allison and Marley walked side by side into the library. They had to meet Scott and Stiles without getting seen, so this was the safest option. They strategically wondered through the shelves until they stopped at the one that the boys were at, on the other side. Marley pulled her iPad out of her bag and last it through the shelf carefully.

"It's everything Lydia can translate. And trust me, she was very confused," Allison said as the two leant against the shelf casually.

"Yeah, what did you tell her?" Scott questioned. He skimmed the Bestiary.

"That we were part of an online gaming community that battles mythical creatures," Allison said, shaking her head.

"I am part of an online gaming community that battles mythical creatures," Stiles said blankly.

"O-oh, great."

Marley shook her head at Stiles, mouthing what the fuck as he frowned at her. Sometimes he just needed that extra nudge to keep quiet.

"Okay, does it say how to find out who's controlling him?" Scott asked, looking up from the iPad.

"No. But Stiles was right about the murderers," Marley spoke up. She nodded her head towards the boy.

"It calls the kanima, a weapon of vengeance. There's a story in there about this South American priest who uses the kanima to execute murderers in his village," Allison began.

"All good," Marley mumbled.

"Until the bond grew strong enough that it killed whoever he wanted it to," Allison finished.

"Not so good."

"Here's the thing, though. The kanima's actually supposed to be a werewolf. But it can't be-"

"Until it resolves that in its past which manifested it," Scott read from a paragraph. Marley didn't mind them using her iPad; it made her feel like part of the pack, not to mention it was her brothers. He only used it for Minecraft anyway.

"Okay, if that means that Jackson could use a few thousand hours of therapy, I could've told you that myself," Stiles said, to be honest, Marley agreed. The guy was a law suit in sneakers.

"What if -It has something to do with his parents? His real parents," Allison suggested.

"Yeah, does anyone know what actually happened to them?" Scott asked, shoving Marley's iPad into his bag.

"Lydia might," Marley said.

"What if she doesn't know anything?"

"Well, he doesn't have a restraining order against me, so -I'll talk to him myself," Allison said. Marley knew that was probably a major mistake. He was literally killing people and she wanted to 'talk' to him?

"Okay what do I do?" Scott asked. Marley thought it strange that the Alpha was asking the huntress what the plan was.

"You have a make-up exam, remember?" Allison reminded, Scott looked down. "Promise me."
