Lux was in full swing that night. Much like it is every night. The music thumped rhythmically, like a beating heart. The patrons mingled and engaged in acts, few being innocent, most being sinful.

Though the owner wasn't present that night, the beautiful den of sin still functioned well.

Maze lounged at the bar, downing her third screwdriver. She was about to find someone to entertain her in bed that night (she had these new iron handcuffs that she was itching to try out), when she heard a familiar tentative voice behind her. "Hey, stranger."

Maze froze, body tensing up. The demon slowly turned around in her stool, to gawk at the source of the familiar voice. "Eve?" Maze asked in surprise.

Eve smiled tentatively. She was wearing a flowing red dress, and had her dark hair falling loosely down her shoulders. Maze narrowed her eyes at the woman, then turned back around.

"If you're looking for Lucifer, then your out of luck. He's at Chloe's. They're banging officially now." The demon said flatly between sips.

"Really? Good for them.." Eve said, and she meant it. Though a small part of her still missed her ex sometimes, Eve knew that it was never meant to be. "But I wasn't looking for Lucifer... I was actually looking for you."

Maze arched a scarred eyebrow at this. "Maze, can we talk?" Eve asked. "Isn't that what we've been doing?" Maze shot back with a bitter edge. "Please? I've got a lot I want to say." Eve said.

Maze gritted her teeth, but got off the stool, downed the rest of her drink, and made her way towards a quieter part of the club. Eve followed silently. Maze plopped down on a sofa in the back of the club, and Eve sat down gracefully beside her.

Maze crossed her arms, wore a blank expression, and waited for Eve to speak. Eve took a breath, then said. "You look good." She was stalling, and they both knew it. "I always do." The demon stated flatly.

Eve nodded her agreement. They sat in awkward silence for several moments. Unaware of the chaos of the club around them.

"Do you actually got anything to say, or can I go back to the bar?" Maze asked, growing impatient.

Eve took a deep breath before speaking. "Yes, I do have things to say. I'm just trying to figure out where to start... I did a lot of thinking during my soul searching." Eve figured she may as well start at the beginning.

"A lot has happened since I left. I traveled all over the place, met new people, experienced new things (side note, don't try
Beetle pudding. It tastes even worse than it looks), and learned a lot about myself."

Maze stayed silent and impassive. Eve couldn't get a read on the demon's emotions.

"I also figured out, that I was never really in love with Lucifer. But I had built him up into something in my mind that he wasn't, and put him atop a pedestal. I honestly don't think I ever even knew WHO the real Lucifer is. Even back in the Garden. And he never knew who I was either, because even I didn't know. And after realizing all of that, and coming to terms with it, I feel much happier now."

And she was. Eve felt stronger as a person now, more than she ever has.

"You sound a lot like Linda." Maze observed neutrally. Eve chuckled lightly. "Yeah, I may read a few... dozen, self-help books along the way. That also helped a lot."

Eve was quiet for a moment, feeling unsure of herself. "And, throughout my time away, I've been missing you." Eve admitted softly.

Maze still wouldn't allow her true emotions to show, so Eve couldn't tell how the demon felt about her admission.
