Yuhwa was stuffing her mouth with ramen when Jeno had called her at one in the morning, asking her if she was up for a late night drive. The girl said yes, of course, not wanting to lock herself in her room any longer.

And as they drove secretly, heading towards a mountain for some extra peace and quiet, she couldn't help but to steal awkward glances towards Jeno's direction. It wasn't like him to randomly announce a late night drive, nor was she sure why he had asked her out of all the people he knew. Surely his girlfriend should be the first to go with him, and not her.

Instead of asking him questions to feed her curious mind, Yuhwa let her eyes rest on the sky. She was glad that Jeno's car was roofless, no barriers between her and the stars. Even the moon, reflecting the kisses of the sun, shone brighter that night, bathing the pair in its milky light. She wondered how perfect it felt, her heart finding a different kind of peace, serene even. Her eyes fluttered close. Not out of sleepiness, but to feel the gentle tug of the wind dancing in her bed hair.

"We're almost there." Jeno spoke, his voice deeper than usual. Yuhwa hummed in response, engrossed and lost her way in the stars.

"You're not asking where we're going?" He asked, masking the surprise hidden beneath his tone. "I could be taking you to our school's basement."

"We're in a mountain." Yuhwa started, not bothering to look at Jeno. She dreamily sighed for the first time, as if she had been enchanted by the moon. She then closed her eyes, focusing her dark orbs on Jeno's devilishly handsome side profile, which she started to admire more than the wonders of the sky. "Besides, I trust you and I love surprises."

Jeno let a small smile slip, slowing down the car on purpose to enjoy her company a little bit longer. "I'm sorry I woke you up for this. None of the guys would have woken up."

"So, I'm your last resort?" Yuhwa raised an eyebrow mockingly.

"No, not really. I could've dragged Jaemin with me. He keeps telling me to race alongside him at night..." Jeno sighed. "But I thought of you and how you'd love something like this."

Yuhwa didn't know how to answer. After all, the guy just admitted that he had been thinking of her often, which was something normally a friend wouldn't say, or do.

The silence didn't last that long. Jeno pulled over, parking his car in front of a giant oak tree which stood protectively next to a metal fence. Yuhwa realised they were standing on a cliff, above, the city she was born and raised in, city lights shining brightly as if someone had dropped a sack of gems in black soil. She gasped softly, excitedly grabbing Jeno by the arm and dragging him towards the edge, wanting to get closer to the view. He chuckled and let her do as she pleased, being awed at the sight in front.

Not the city.

Her.

Her eyes reflected the city lights, glistening innocently while her pink lips parted to whisper words of amusement. Her fingers unknowingly went down to his, lacing them together as if they'd been lovers all along. His heart thumped against his ribcage, emotions he had recently felt during the times he spent with her blooming in his chest uncontrollably.
