Author's Note 1: So why am I doing this? Four reasons. Number one: pettiness. You're telling me someone got 500 readers for a Glitch Techs fanfic with only one word? No, no no no no no no. You want an interesting Glitch Techs fanfic? I'll give you one.
Author's Note 2: Please go tell your friends more about Glitch Techs episodes, and get them to watch more on Netflix. It's a great show.
Author's Note 3: Want more Glitch Techs episodes? Well, production had been frozen on the series in the middle of the next 10 episodes. Nickelodeon's executives are losing faith in the production due to its high costs, and also due to the companies going into a restructuring meant to avoid fully paying for the production of new shows with the help of third parties such as Netflix. So Nickelodeon and Netflix needs to know people are interested.
Author's Note 4: Will you check out my other works if you get the chance. I'm doing my best here. Now, to the opening.

"Uhh," groaned at the site of her tv playing, "dating sims are so boring."
Miko Kubota was stuck playing Doki Doki Dreamboat. Her sisters, Lexi and Nica, found her frustration odd. Sure she struggled with games, but for the most part she was having fun.
"Aren't those where you have to ask out someone else in the game? Why not just get a real boyfriend or something?"
"It's not like that Lexi. It just takes up so much time and there's so much wrong with it. I have to play as this super boring guy with no tact or talent and a bunch of boring high school antics. Plus, all the girls and guys I have to build social bonds with are so boring or act like Mitch."
Lexi, mostly getting what her sister had to say, had another idea. "Why not pick one of the gamer characters?" Miko sighed.
"Yeah but he looks like this!" She pointed to the screen, which showed an angry guy picking his nose, a nasty shirt with stains, and an old game controller, had a big gut and had smelly logos around his arms. "Is that what I look like!?"
"No, but your boss does." All three of them started laughing.
"Hey, Phil isn't that big." Then she thought about it. "Well he can pull off a sweet roundhouse kick though."
Lexi scoffed, amused. "I can take him."
"Anyways," pausing the game. "I might as well get ready for work."
"Say hi to Five and that Berg kid for us."
Knowing that she couldn't summon Ally in front of either of them despite having quotas, she texted Five to come get her from their van.
"Miko," her mother, Mayumi Kubota, called from downstairs. "Can I speak with you?"
Miko gulped. Her sisters gave her a shrug and weak thumbs up. They hadn't done anything majorly wrong in a while, though Miko always knew she was seen as the unfavorite in the family.
"I'm coming." She headed downstairs, grabbing the lunch her dad made once she sat down with her mother, the two standing face to face. "What's up mom?"
Mayumi sighed. "Miko, I'm very proud of you for having your job, but soon, I want you to consider looking for a career."
Miko swallowed her food in confusion. "I already told you mom, I'm a pro gamer. I'm just going to do that."
"Miko, look, I understand you have a passion, but are you going to be able to make money in the long term?"
"All I gotta do is start my channel, avoid any controversies, get sponsored by some big company, and keep playing and winning. I'm just as good as Mitch and he's one of the best players in the world. You believe in me mom," concerned her mother didn't after all the time lingered in her now wallowing voice. "Right?"
"I just want you to have a successful future where you can succeed and actually make something of your life."
Miko slammed the table. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"Young lady, do not raise your voice at the table."
"Well do you believe in me or not?"
"Well it's not that I don't, but I-"
"But what? I kick butt in every game, won multiple tournaments and tons of trophies, the best gamer in the world, and I'm doing pretty well at work. Well I mean Mitch is at the top there but Five and I have been rocking ever since."
"I'm not angry Miko, it that's just in case-"
Just that? Miko's burst gauge hit her apex. All her accomplishments doing what she loves and earning money doing so. The look of her mother seemed to downplay all of her achievements and efforts, in spite of getting a job like she wanted only raised the sadness and rage meter in her heart until it ran full.
"Do you honestly care about how hard I work? I'm sorry I'm not like Lexi and Geoffrey, but I work hard just as much as everyone does with what I love, and every time you and dad are down my throat about this" hand quoting "oh Miko's interests aren't as sophisticated, why don't find something that will actually benefit you," all the time! Have you ever thought about how I feel, or do you just want me to get a career just for another stupid trophy that's not virtual you can show off to the rest of the family!?"
"Miko, it isn't like that!"
"Then tell me you support me being a gamer, right here, right now!"
Silence erupted in the space between the two of them. Miko and Mayumi's eyes were locked, the other waiting to make a move.
Just as one was about to say something, a van with a familiar horn ran outside the building. High Five was there to pick her up.
"Time to go somewhere that actually appreciates me."
"Miko, wait!"
Miko leaped out of her seat and ran out to the van.
"Yo Miko, how's it going, amiga?"
"Let's just go."
"Huh, alright then."
Miko didn't look back. There had to be some sort of answer, rather, code to get through to her mother. For now, being a Glitch Tech would suffice.
