Chapter 1: First Day

(Y/n pov)

I woke up and almost panicked until I remembered what happened the previous night. I glanced around the room and saw (r/n) asleep on their bed. I was still new and didn't have any clothes but I didn't want to wake them because I felt like it would be rude, I was startled out of my thoughts when I heard a knock on the door. I went over to answer it and saw that it was Lily. "Morning! I remembered that your roommate likes to sleep in so I figured I'd come and help you get settled in. First things first, we need to get you dressed and give you some food. Then we'll move on from there. In the meantime there's a bathroom on each floor since some children are accident prone so go get changed and meet me downstairs." I nodded my head and took the clothes then watched as Lily headed down stairs, afterwards I made my way to the bathroom and got dressed. Once I was dressed I went downstairs to see Lily serving up a plate of scrambled eggs and bacon. I went and sat down at the kitchen countertop and watched her until she handed me my food, then proceeded to clean up and look through the cupboards and refrigerator then write on a piece of paper. "What are you doing?" "Hmm? Oh! I'm making a shopping list, since we're going to the store I figured we could pick up some groceries." I nodded my head in understanding and went back to finishing my food. Once I was finished and I helped Lily with the groceries I followed Lily to what I assumed was the front door for the house. "Are you ready to go?" "Mhm." "Great! We have a lot to do today so let's get started!" I followed Lily outside of the house and through the front yard which I saw several people working on. When we got to the street I turned and saw just how big the house actually was. After staring at it for a little while I turned back to the front and followed Lily into a taxi that she called for.

She told the driver to head to the nearest adoption center then sat back and stared out the window, it wasn't long until the taxi stopped and Lily opened the door then paired the taxi for his service and asked him to stay a little bit. I followed Lily inside as she went to a desk and started talking. While Lily was talking I glanced around the room and saw a bunch of different children with adults. I snapped back to attention when Lily called for me, I went up and stood next to her however I couldn't see since the desk was so high up so she picked me up and sat me in her hip so I could see. "Hello little one, are you (y/n)?" I nodded my head and hid in Lily's shoulder since I wasn't the outgoing type around new people. "Hmm, well then, (y/n)...would you like to be adopted by this young lady?" I widened my eyes and looked between Lily and the lady at the front desk. "That's why I brought you here, (y/n), I want to adopt you! But it is your choice, so, can I adopt you?" I quickly nodded my head with a smile and watched as Lily filled out the paperwork and then handed it back. We waited for a little while then the front desk lady handed Lily a piece of paper, Lily let me look at it and I saw that it had her name and mine on there. Lily thanked the lady then carried me outside to the taxi. I could see her watching me in my peripheral vision. "That paper is very important, it's proof that I'm your new guardian, and that under no circumstances anyone can take you away from me. I looked between Lily and the paper and decided that I could trust her. "Thank you, for adopting me." "Your welcome! Now how about we go shopping so you can make your side of your room your own and get you some clothes that you would actually like." "Yes please!"

And that's what we did, I got clothes, hygiene, and bedroom supplies, then we went grocery shopping and I got to pick out our dinner and desert since I was a new member of the family, we also dropped by a school that Lily was going to sign me up for since I was previously homeschooled. The best part was that (r/n) went to the same school! We got my uniform and then headed home. My school was really close to the house so I got to walk to school with my new roommate or I guess my new brother/sister. Apparently the mall and the grocery store was a good distance away from the house as well, there was also a middle school and high school close by so that way Lily was always close by if we needed her. When we got home I saw (r/n) in the kitchen eating breakfast. "Hey (r/n)!" "Hey there (y/n)! So are you permanently joining us?" "Yep! I'm now your new brother/sister!" "Awesome! I can't wait for you to meet everyone else!" "Haha, I see you two are excited but first things first, (r/n) why don't you help your new brother/sister get their room set up?" "Sure things Lily! Come on (y/n)! Let's go!" "Alright!" I followed (r/n) up to our room and with their help we got my room all set up and it looked awesome! Once that was done we spent the entire day meeting different people and (r/n) giving me a tour of the house! The house had a really simple layout. The first floor had all the fun stuff while the second, third, and fourth floor had all the rooms, the basement was where the base was and there wasn't a lot of fun stuff to do down there but it was cool nonetheless. By the time dinner came around I had gotten familiar with my new home, the best part was that I got to start school tomorrow! Sadly we still have to sleep the night away which is the boring part but I can't wait for tomorrow!!
