"What do you want. Hmm?" Caius raised an eyebrow speaking quietly so I didn't wake. I could hear everything, was on the verge of falling back into the deep abyss of dreams. I had been in and out of sleep all afternoon, feeling so weary.
"I've come to report a crime. The Cullens they've done something..terrible." I could hear a woman's voice but I didn't recognise it. Aro was reading his book on Greek literature while I sat comfortably in his lap, my face hiding in his neck.
"Brother." I felt the rumble of Aro's voice against my back, not even a second after I was lifted and placed into someone else's lap. I groaned slightly stirring. "Shh Carissima go back to sleep." Caius soothed running a hand through my hair.
"Allow me my dear." I heard Aro speak.
"What's going on?" I asked quietly, eyes still closed.
"I hope whatever this is it's worth waking our mate up." Caius growled harshly, I snuggled closer to him on instinct making him purr lightly.
"Thank you for bringing this to my attention young one. Santiago take her to one of our spare rooms." Aro's voice was sickly sweet. Once the doors had closed once more, another hand was on me. Cupping my cheek. I opened my eyes to see Aro looking at me lovingly.
"What's wrong?" My voice heavy with sleep as I blinked slowly. Truthfully I wasn't going to take in anything he said because of how exhausted I was, but I wanted him to confide in me too. He chuckled and kissed my forehead.
"I'll tell you when you can take it in, il mio amore." He smiled when I nodded yawning slightly before snuggling back into Caius' neck.
"Reminds me of a sleepy kitten." Marcus laughed quietly, the other two hummed in agreement.
"Shh." I muttered and the next thing I knew I was waking up in a bed. Not mine. I could tell from the bedding and curtains.
"You're in mine mia cara." My leg was lazily draped over Aro's. I moaned still groggy before lifting myself up to move completely on top of him, burying my face in his cold neck. It always surprised me that it never woke me up but lured me back into comfy sleep. My mates just felt so welcoming, like home.
"I'm surprised too. I thought the temperature would bother you." Aro voice his opinion about my thoughts.
"You're just comfy. I love how you feel." I mumbled sleepily. The noise he made was a mix between a growl and a chuckle.
"Sorry." I realised my mistake...I love how you feel.
"Althea." Aro said my name sternly making me giggle, I lifted my head up and place a peck on his cheek, then his lips.
A smile grew on his face making me mirror the expression. Pressing my lips to his once more, moving our mouths together. I threaded my fingers through his hair gripping it as I sat up. He came with me wrapping his arms around my torso. He deepened the kiss, licking into my mouth pulling a moan from me. It was heaven, feeling so serene. But I had to pull away to breathe.
He continued to kiss down my neck as I gulped down air. Just as his tongue glided over my collarbone, the door opened revealing Caius and Marcus.
"Bellissima." Caius grumbled. A twinge of jealousy in his eyes once he saw our position. Feeling my cheeks heat up I hid my face in Aro's neck mentally face palming myself for having the heated make out session.
"There's no need to regret anything il mio amore." Aro used a tone that left no room for argument.
"Have you told her?" Marcus asked.
"Told me what?"
"No she just woke up." Aro replied to his brother.
"Told me what?"
"Don't you think you should be informing her instead of kissing." Caius grinned.
"Told me what?" I said louder now trying to catch someone's attention. Aro turned serious and explained to me what the woman, Irina, had showed him.
"They made an immortal child? That's illegal! And just wrong!" I raised my voice, feeling angry.
"Don't be upset Tesoro." Marcus
"No." I got off the bed and began pacing. How could they? Taking away a child from their parents, taking away their life.
I couldn't have children with the kings, and although I understood. It saddened me. However, I knew my mates couldn't change that even if they wanted to. But someone did have children. They had a baby and now it was gone. Tears built up at the thought, covering my mouth with my hand to keep any sobs in. It didn't surprise me how much the subject upset me.
"Tesoro." Marcus turned me to face him and his brothers, all of their faces dropping at the sight of my watering eyes.
"I'm sorry," I whimpered, "I just, I can't have a child, and to know that the people who could, had theirs taken away from them. I can't even begin to imagine their pain." I felt distraught for the presumed grieving parents. The kings gave me looks of sympathy.
"Your empathy is precious Carissima." Caius wiped away my tears.
"I don't know if that's a compliment of not." I sniffled.
"It was." He smiled bring me into his embrace. I gladly accepted his touch. Aro had stood up and straightened out his shirt, pulling back on his discarded suit jacket.
"So what now?" I looked to Aro.
"Now my brothers, the guard and I will gather witnesses and confront them." He stated firmly buttoning up his jacket.
"I'm coming with you." I pulled away from Caius.
"No, it's too dangerous." The blonde growled.
"I wasn't asking for permission. I'm going end of discussion." I left the room, marching towards the kitchen, ignoring the calls of men behind me. I had more important things to do than argue, for instance, food was calling my name.
