I breathe heavily, collapsing on top of Jarvis as sweat glistened our bodies. My golden brown tresses was hanging in front of my face and underneath me, Jarvis pushed my hair back and kissed me. We kissed each other deeply, tongues tangling with one another. I separated our faces slightly, staring him in the eye."I love you, An."
I plant my lips on his. "I love you, too."
I climbed off him to lay beside him. "So what now?"
Jarvis looked at me. "What you mean, baby?"
"Well, she signed the divorce papers, right? Y'all do have a child, so, what's next?" I watch him move from under the covers and slip on his boxer briefs.
"What you mean?"
I lifted up covering my breasts with the cover. "What do you mean, what do I mean? Like, do we find another place? Somewhere bigger so that your son can come stay. Work on starting our family?"
"I'm...taking this one day at a time, An. I still gotta go through this whole divorce, her wanting alimony, child support, and making sure she don't try keeping my son from me. Just slow down a little bit, baby."
"Slow down?" I lift a brow, "you want me to slow down and I've been patient for the past two years. I've been slowed down enough. Why now that she's signed the papers you're wanting to be hesitant?"
"I'm not being hesitant. But my life finna go through some uproar."
"Which was expected." I chuckled in disbelief, raising on my knees. "We expected this."
"We?" he chuckled.
"Yes, we. Or is this not what you wanted?"
"You think I would ask the woman I've been married to for ten years, with a eight year old son that I wanted a divorce to be with you if I didn't want this? I didn't do this for my health."
At the mention of the amount of years he's been married to her, my conversation with Joie popped up in my mind. My eyes followed him walk to the bathroom, while I left out to use the other one. When I came back in wearing my robe, Jarvis was stripping the bed.
