Pokémon: Ashly's Story

Pokemon, I Choose You!

     In the residence of Pallet Town from Kanto, a young girls dream is about to unfold. A 10 year old girl named Ashly Hill just had her birthday and is about to set of on her own journey. She was already heading down the road to Professor Oak's lab. On the way daydreaming about who to pick as her first starter Pokémon between Squirtle, Charmander and Bulbasaur, she hears a cry right by a river near by. Hurrying to the cry, she finds a little blue Pokémon out of the river. It didn't look in good health. "Don't worry. I'm here." She picks up the Pokémon and could tell it was badly hurt. 'I have to hurry and get it to the professor's lab.' Ashly gets up on her feet quickly and starts taking it to Professor Oak's lab. Soon she reaches the lab and runs inside. "Professor Oak! Emergency!" Then in a blink of an eye, Professor Oak appears out of a door. "What is it?" He noticed her and the blue Pokémon in her arms. He sprints up to her. "This Pokémon isn't in good health. I think it's hurt." Professor Oak holds the Pokémon looking at it. "A Dratini." He takes a good look and looks at Ashly. "Don't worry. Follow me." Ashly nods as they go towards a medicine cabinet full of Pokémon remedies. He grabs a antidote and a potion. Carefully he sprays Dratini with them. "Soon Dratini will be in full health. And by the looks of it, I can guess that you are Ashly right?" Ashly looks up at him with gleam in her eyes. "That's right! I'm here to start my journey and pick my Pokémon." Oak then smiles at Ashly. "Looks like you are ready for anything. Well, head this way." Ashly follows him towards a table that has a Pokédex and some Pokèballs. "Here is what you need to start your journey. Your Pokédex and your Pokèballs. Fill the Pokédex out for me and catch as many Pokémon as you can. I would like to study as many Pokémon as I can." "Don't worry Professor. I will." Ashly nods with a smile as Oak grabs three Pokèballs placing them in between them on the table. Then they hear Dratini beside them as Dratini looks up at Ashly with gleam in its eyes. Ashly smiles at Dratini as does Oak. "Looks like Dratini is taking a liking to you since you saved it." Ashly smiles and pets its head gently. "Is that so?" Dratini gives a smile in the eyes as it goes climbing up Ashly's arm. "I'm guessing Dratini wants to tag along with you." Ashly smiles at Dratini. "You want to join my team?" Dratini nods smiling. Ashly then grabs a Pokèball Professor has gave her and uses it gently tapping Dratini gently as a red beam comes out and tags Dratini. Dratini then goes inside as the ball shakes a little. Then soon stops as she now has Dratini. "Alright! I got a Dratini!" Dratini was now her first Pokémon. Soon there was more to come as Oak speaks up. "So do you still want to pick one of the other starter Pokémon?" Ashly looks down as she thinks about it. Then she looks up at Oak. "That's alright. To become the Dragon Master I want to become, catching them is what I want to do instead and become one with them." "That's great to hear." Then they hear a door open. "Hey gramps." Ashly looks behind her and sees a boy with brown hair and wears boots. Noticing him, she recognized him from when they were young. "Gary?" Then Gary looked her way and had a smirk in his face. "Ashly. Long time, no see huh?" "True." She nods her head at him with a smile. "Already got your Pokémon huh? Let me guess, Charmander?" "You just have to wait and see." Ashly smiles and winks at him friendly. He smiles as he then looks at his grandfather. "I'm here for my Pokémon as well." "Of course." Oak says as he goes grabbing a pokèball behind him and handing it to Gary."Thanks gramps." Gary takes it along with his Pokédex and Pokèballs. Then he turns to Ashly. "See you out there." Ashly smiles and nods as she looks at Professor Oak. "See you later." She waves as she runs out the door. As she exits the gate, she noticed a car and some girls. She was surprised wondering what that was about. Then she sees some dust flying so much down the road. She wasn't sure what was going on as she stood back noticing some boy in his pajamas running up and accidentally ran into Gary who came up after her. She gave a little laugh when the boy falls backwards on his butt. She didn't want to waist time as she knew Gary would take care of the situation. As she runs off down the road, she wondered who the boy was anyways. He looked familiar.

She had came to a river to catch another Pokémon and battle. Ashly placed her bright blue bag by a tree near her and watched the river waiting with her pokèball in hand. "Dratini, come on out!" Dratini comes out and they faced the water. "When the Pokémon jumps out, attack with wrap." Dratini makes her happy cry as they wait. Soon, one jumps up out of the water. Then Dratini wraps a Magikarp out of the water. But then the Magikarp tackles Dratini to try and get back into the water. "Dratini! Stop it by wraping it again!" Dratini gets back up quickly and wraps it again on the ground. Surprisingly, the Magikarp was pretty tough already. Dratini kept it up and this time gave another attack. "Twister!" Dratini used its twister attack and the Magikarp couldn't keep it up. Ashly knew this Dratini was pretty strong along with this Magikarp already. Then she sees a little electric coming from the bump on Dratini's forehead. Ashly then gives a smile. "Thunder wave!" Dratini then gives a electric wave on Magikarp which shocks it. "It's time." Ashly grabs a pokèball. "Pokèball, go!" She threw it at Magikarp as Magikarp goes inside. She watches the ball shake on the ground till it finally stops. Ashly smiled picking it up. "Alright. We got a new friend!" Dratini was happy. Ashly then brings Magikarp back out and helps heal it with a paralyze heal she had. Magikarp acts like it was splashing as she could tell that meant it was happy. "Let's get to the Pokémon center before night comes." Her Pokémon we're happy in agreement as she returns them and heads down the road towards the next city.

    As Ashly walks into Viridian City, she noticed it was kinda quiet. Not many people were out and not many buildings were there. Guess it was a travel spot to get to in case. Then a distant roar was coming as Ashly looked up behind her noticing a storm coming in. "Guess I'm staying at the center until the storm passes." Ashly goes inside and goes up to nurse Joy. "You made it just in time." Said nurse Joy. "I sure did. That storm is blowing in quick." They looked out the window at it as Ashly remembered. "Oh yeah. Can you take care of my Pokémon?" Ashly hands over her Pokèballs to her as nurse Joy takes them. "Of course. I'll call you when they are done. Please. Go enjoy some dinner." Ashly nods as she goes and sits down waiting as A Chansey brings her some dinner. "Wow. A Chansey." She looks it up in her Pokédex. "Chansey, the egg Pokémon. Chansey is an extremely brave and kind Pokémon and whatever her mood is, she's always smiling. She is known to bring anyone happiness." Ashly looks at Chansey with a smile. "You are very cute." Chansey smiles saying her name as every Pokémon does. Then Chansey leaves as Ashly enjoys her dinner.

     Unknowingly, a team of bad guys were coming to the center to take all the Pokémon there. Before they did, Ashly heard nurse Joy call her for her Pokémon which were healed now. Ashly had finished her dinner and went over to nurse Joy picking up her Pokémon. "Thank you so much nurse Joy." "Anytime. Be careful out there." Ashly nods as she waves at nurse Joy leaving the center after the rain passed. As she takes off down the road, she noticed a hot air balloon above. It looked like a Meowth balloon. She wasn't sure what was going on as she thought maybe someone just travels that way town to town. Forgetting it, she moves on down the road to go find more Pokémon to catch and battle before getting to Pewter City. But first.... she had to pass through Viridian Forest where all the bug Pokémon are. Will she catch Pokémon or.... friendships?
