Falling For You

Chapter-2

Now everybody was having breakfast in the Rathore villa. Abhimanyu was also present there and was eating his breakfast silently. Nobody was ready to speak or talk about anything, suddenly Nivedita cleared her throat and raised one question that Abhimanyu was running away from.

Nivedita: So Abhi how is everything going on, what have you planned to do next?

Abhi clearly knew what was coming on next and had no mood to deal with his mother's questions so he answered in a very basic manner and avoided eye-contact

Abhi: nothing mom everything is going on smoothly and as for planning something I have to go on a business trip after 2 days so I will be busy with that for one week or two.

Nivedita: Abhi you clearly know that it is not what I meant, I am  talking about your future which is certainly not these business trips

Nivedita said in an angry voice, she has been ignoring all these things for the past 2 years but now she wanted answers. She was worried about her son's future and her dear son was not ready to come out of his shell.

Abhi: mom please not again. I clearly told you that I am not interested in any of the things that you are indicating at. I am satisfied with my present right now and have no future plans.

Nivedita: Shailesh please say something. This is not right, you need to talk to him.

Shailesh: Abhi meet me in the study after 15 minutes it's high time now that we talk and proceed further. Your mom is right your future is not going to be business trips.

Saying this Shailesh got up from his seat and headed toward his room followed by Nivedita. Abhimanyu wanted to protest and argue with them but remembering the past stopped and sighed. After finishing his breakfast he too proceeded towards his room. All this while Karan was quiet and sighed thinking about the coming future of his dear brother.

IN THE STUDY ROOM

Shailesh: why are you so against it? your mom is right, life is not spent like this, my boy.

Abhi: dad you are behaving as if nothing happened before. You know how it was right? I am ready to face all that again, please.

Nivedita: my baby, we all know what happened in the past, and that's why we want you to look towards it. It is very difficult to walk alone in life you need someone besides you.

Nivedita tried to explain it very sweetly to her son who was not even ready to hear them out. But they were not going to let it pass that easily, it was for his betterment only.

Abhi: mom but I have you all I am not alone I am very happy with you all, I don't need any other reason to be happy.

Shailesh: but we will not always be there Abhi, at some point in time you know that you will be alone and there is no room for debate on this. Try to get a clear vision son, you cant always escape.

Abhi sighed finding no answer to his dad's saying and deep down he also knew he was right too, but his past was not allowing him to allow this.

Nivedita: Abhi we just want you to think about it, but if you still feel this is not right or you are not ready then we won't force it on you baby, in the end, it will be your decision only.  

Shailesh: yes, your mom is right we don't want to force you into anything. Think about it and then tell us and take as much time you want we won't rush you.

Both of them smiled at their son and patted his head before leaving the room. It's true that they were very understanding and respected their children's decisions. After they left Abhi was left alone in the room, alone with his thoughts and alone with his heart and mind. He spent almost the whole day in the study, working, and thinking about everything.

Finally, it was dinner time and he came down for dinner to see his whole family there smiling at a joke of Kartik, and a soft smile appeared on his lips also seeing his family. Yes, now after seeing them he made his decision. Seeing his brother on the stairs, Kartik called out for him and he was brought back out of his thoughts and came down.

They all were having dinner peacefully until Abhi spoke catching the attention of all three of them.

Abhi: I made my decision.

He announced to all of them, Kartik frowned in confusion and his parents exchanged a look Abhi couldn't understand. Seeing all their eyes towards him, he continued............

Abhi: I thought about it a lot and I think......i..i....I think...i am r-r-rea-ready. I am okay with it.

He spoke with a lot of hesitation but in the end, completed his decision and avoided eye contact. There was a long silence but then suddenly Nivedita squealed and stood up from her seat and hugged his son and kissed him on his forehead. She was very happy for him and about the decision he made. Shailesh also had a small smile on his face and nodded his head in appreciation of his son's decision.

All this while Kartik was very confused and got more confused after seeing the whole happy scenario. 

Kartik: what is happening here will somebody please tell me, I am not getting a single thing

Nivedita: your dear brother agreed, he agreed for giving it a chance. He ready to get married again.

Kartik was shocked at first not believing his mother's words. It was very surprising for him to hear such a piece of news but then came and hugged his brother happily

Kartik: I am so happy for you bro, oh god I am very happy. You made a good decision bro, trust me.

All this whole Abhi was very silent and didn't speak a word. Good decision or not the future will only tell.
