Bring!Bring! My alarm rang annoyingly. I slowly put it off. I lay in bed and stare at the ceiling. I sighed sadly. I wasn’t so pleasant today, for I would be moving to Minnesota from Texas. I've lived there my whole life and I didn’t want to be in utter cold! Maybe for vacation but not to live there, but my dad got a good job offer he couldn't refuse.
I slowly got dressed in a red t-shirt, a black sweater and cargo pants. I put on some red Converse to match the outfit, and growled with boredom.
“Lilith!!!” my mother called.
“WHAT?!” I retorted.
“Get down here now!” my mother replied to the rude comment.
I slowly walked down the stairs to see my baby brother, August, Auggie for short, had flung his spaghettios onto the floor!
“I’m gonna have to clean this now, aint' I mom?” I replied.
“Yep! You should’ve known that already!” My mom said. I started cleaning the mess, reluctantly.
“Luna would you bring my suitcase outside?!” My dad shouted to my mom. “Ok Adam!”, my mom said in reply.
Auggie started to raise his hands out to me, so I picked him up out of his high chair and set him down. To my surprise he wanted me to keep holding him; he was usually very squirmy and fussy so that rarely happened. So I picked him back up and my best friend Xalia walked through the door to say hi!
Well of course I HAD to tell her.
“I-I’m...I’m moving to Minnesota, sorry I didn’t have the time to tell you Xal.” I said as I turned red like a tomato.
“I don’t know what to say Lil…” muttered Xal. “When are you leaving?”, she said, sounding sad.
“Um today…”, I gulped nervously and stood still, staring at her. Xal’s facial expression intensified from a harsh look to a hard, cold stare.
“I-I’m sorry Xal!” I said as she went up the stairs to the spare room. But it was like her second bedroom because she spent so much time at our house.
I dejectedly stood there, stomped up the stairs, and entered my room with a sigh. I flopped on the bed and curled up under the covers. This was the worst day of my life. I sobbed under the covers. I had just lost my best friend.
“Lil! I’m sorry, I was so rude!” Xal called from the guest room.
“It’s ok, Xal!!!” I said with a hint of dejection. Xal and I reluctantly said our goodbyes and sadly I watched her walk out the door to go back home.
I grabbed my suitcase and my clothes bin. I put them in the trunk of the car; it would be a long drive to Minnesota
