Introducing pov's! Bc I confuse myself using 3rd person sometimes :)

Dinner

...

*Bowser's pov*

It was in fact interesting. A week had pass since Mario took the princess back to the castle and everyday Luigi would walk in the garden, completely unaware that I would watch him from the window.

I would look at Luigi for hours without even noticing. It was strange to me how one of my worst enemies was living in the castle. Everyday when he woke up I would look to see if Luigi was in the garden and there he was. Bowser Jr joked about me having a crush on Luigi but I would just brush it off.

But now... I wasn't so sure.

It was little things he did that made my heart skip a beat. His laugh. The way he tried to act tough around me.

The way he says my name.

Every time he says my name I feel butterflies in my stomach.

...

I was snapped out of my daydream by my son.

"Dad!, some lady just stormed in the castle yelling for Luigi!" He grabbed my paw and dragged me to the front of the castle. The first thing I notice is the guards hiding in their shells. I then turn towards the yelling and it's Kamek and one of Peach's princess friends.

"Silence!" I roar and everyone shuts up.

I glare at my guards before continuing. "Can't have one peaceful day."

That's when the princess began talking. "Where's Luigi?" she seemed calm enough.

"He's probably in the garden, Jr. be a dear and show her the way." The two walked away and I let out a sigh.

...

Luigi came back laughing with Jr. and the Princess whose name I found out was Daisy. They talked a little more before Daisy left.

Then it was dinner time. I put a love note under Luigi's pillow hoping he would see it when he went to bed this evening. We started eating and I was already getting impatient, I needed him to find the note.

I needed him.

We all made some small talk as we ate. Today was pasta night, I made some Alfredo with a side of parmesan chicken and sweet peas. It was my favorite as a kid. Growing up we were very poor but every Saturday night Mother and Father always found a way to put everything aside to spend time with me. They took the whole day off just to be there. Alfredo with Parmesan chicken a sweet peas was meal they made for special occasions, my birthday mainly. It was also the last meal I ate from them. Hunters broke in at the peak of moons rise and killed my parents in cold blood. I was lucky enough to be spending the night at Kamek's house. I will never forget that day. Walking into your home and seeing the people that gave you life and cared for you sprawled out on the floor in front of you, blood pooling around them. My parents always said I was quiet for a kid my age, barely saying a word, barely making a noise. But that day I remember distinctively the sound of my own screams. Even twenty years later I still have nightmares about that day, and they all end the same way. Hearing my screams as my parents bled out.

"Bow-"

"Bowse-"

"Bowser"

"BOWSER!!"

I quickly snapped out of my thoughts and returned to the real world. The first thing to see is Luigi's face, concern written all over it.

"Bowser, are you alright?" He asks

I can only nod, I felt that if I spoke my words would betray me. Tears were threatening to fall, one word and I knew the dams would break. But the harder I tried to calm down the closer I got to falling apart. All I could think about was my past. It wasn't only my parents death that still shook me. It was also my entire life. The things I did to survive without parents, to get money, food. The countless murders I committed to become king. I knew my subjects loved and respected me. I was the one to free them from the treacherous leader that once ruled the koopas. The elders still thank me for freeing them from the pain the previous leader brought them. But no kid should have to have to kill. Unfortunately it was the only way to survive, it was kill or be killed.

*Third person*

All the crap that he went through, he had to keep to himself. He had no one to talk to. It built up over the years. Constant pressure on the dam.

And finally,

It broke.

At first it was just one tear, it rolled down his cheek and fell onto the table below. Then came the second, then the third. Soon he was full on crying.

All the built up emotions, the memories, the pain, it all was too much for him to handle.

Lucky for him he wasn't alone anymore. Luigi wiped some tears from his Bowser's face. Bowser opened his eyes and looked at Luigi with a new admiration for him, Bowser hugged Luigi, who returned the hug and whispered to Boswer that everything was going to be okay.

And Bowser believed it.
