Unravel

"Hitoshi, let's talk." I decide to take the risk of telling him, depending on his answer to this question,
"How much do you hate villains?" I ask, my lie detector quirk activated. Hawks leans back on the counter, waiting.
"I don't hate villains, I hate the actions of most. Such as harming civilians or causing unnecessary damage overall. If I were to become one, I don't think I could find myself hurting anyone for no reason. I'm not necessarily accepted into the heroes society, so there's not exactly a reason for me to have something against villains if most heroes don't really make a difference towards me. Vigilantism sounds most appealing." This statement is 100% true. I sigh of relief, releasing my quirk.
"Your eyes can glow purple?"
"Yeah, it's a quirk."
"I thought you had pyrokinesis or something along those lines?"
"I do.. but that's not all."
"How-"
Hitoshi is interrupted by my alarm for 8pm.
"I have a lot to tell you Hito-chan, but right now, we have to go see All Might."
"I have many questions, so i'll be waiting."
"See ya kid. I suggest you stay in my office until we're back, as it's the safest, most reliable place here."
"If I feel in danger, I will. Thanks."
Hawks goes to call the elevator, and as I'm about to follow, Hitoshi pulls me into a hug.
"Stay safe. I don't know what you're in, just be careful." He whispered. He caught me off guard, but I hugged him back.
"I will, trust me."

We went down to the garage, and go to his motorcycle.
"I drive or you drive?" Hawks asked.
"I know my way to Takoba Municipal pretty well. Plus I like the feeling of driving the motorcycle more than riding."
I responded, getting on and clipping my helmet. He sits behind me, arms around my waist like last time. I take off, this time at a more reasonable speed.
"Y/n, I must ask, what is your relationship with Shinso? From what I heard, you 2 were never close."
"You interrogate me even when I'm driving. What are you, a pop quiz?"
He chuckles lightly and responds
"Fine fine. I'll let you have this one. Tell me later if you want. This is pure curiosity, it's nothing much to begin with."
I nod, then go back to focus on driving. I go into the zone, and start to accelerate. I feel Keigo's grip tighten, but it doesn't pull me back.
"Y/n, watch out!" He yelled, I snap out of it, to see I'm about to collide with a truck.

I swerve around last minute, and the truck tries to get out the way as well. We were so close to colliding, I could've stretched my arm out to touch the truck.
"Sorry."
"What the hell was that?"
"Adrenaline desire."
"You sure you want to keep driving?"
"We're almost there."
I make a few turns, and then park near the boardwalk, locking it down.
We get off, and as I start walking around the board walk, I see a tall, bony silhouette. Hawks looks at me and I already know what he's thinking: is that All Might? I nod at him and continue walking, starting the recorder in my pocket, and he starts the unseen body cam on his hero suit's jacket. I'd assume he heard us, as he turns around, facing me. I take off my mask, for better eye contact. He looks at Keigo next, analyzing the pro hero's reaction, then sighing. Keigo probably didn't know what to expect, but his face and posture show no reaction, as usual. We reach in front of him, and he stands up.
"Y/n.."
"Get to the point Toshinori. We don't have all day."
"Then please sit, I have a lot unwrap. Hawks, feel free to sit as well. I'm sure you'll be listening no matter where you stay." He sits. I follow, leaving some distance for reasons. Keigo sits next to me.
"I'm presuming you won't let me apologize in any way?"
"You have a bit of brains left. No. Any apologetic attempt will be disregarded and pushed away. Forgiveness isn't an option anymore, or working together overall. You're just pitying yourself, what does that have to do with me?"
I notice Keigo slightly shifted. I look at him and he seems taken aback by my sudden coldness.
"I figured as much. Nighteye told me you want to be a pro. He also said you left his agency to be Hawks' partner. I want to at least tell you the truth, before it's too late. I changed successors because Nighteye said you weren't as fitted for the role as you appeared to be. He brought up your father, your past of delinquency, and only being forced in to UA, not being a hero by choice, despite rapidly climbing the ranks. I objected, but he added 'I can't see a future at all for Midoriya, no matter how I try. But that means, their future isn't guaranteed to be as a hero.' I kept thinking about all he said and it eventually got to me. The next day I met your brother. I discouraged him because he was quirkless, but his determination made me give in. I told him that I'd take him as my successor. He had seemed to be the perfect person for heroism, or a next symbol of peace. When I told Nighteye about him, he still wasn't pleased, as he wanted someone like Mirio. Not a random who had no potential. Not to mention, he was your full brother, meaning he could either be similar to you, or end up like your dad. Nighteye and I don't want you to be a pro hero, because that's a lot of power for someone we can't tru-"
"Do you hear how stupid you sound? You train her for 3 years, and some sidekick of yours changes your mind? You both knew her well enough, but yet because of her origin, she suddenly can't be trusted? I hate fake heroes like you. You lie to the public, keeping the peaceful act. If you can't keep peace with your previous student, then how are you a symbol of peace for the world? Sure, her fathers dangerous, sure, she's dangerous. But that's a petty excuse. It's just as pathetic as you currently are. You want to apologize so bad but your actions and reasons doesn't match that at all. Has she not saved enough people? Has she not done enough school work? Has she not been a good enough student to you? That just because you're scared, you completely drop her? Get over yourself. I can see why she doesn't want to congregate with you." Keigo went off on All Might, catching us both by surprise.
