Part 1
[Kasaki Shinji]
Faint chirps compacted within the open space, proning myself, as I observed my targets far ahead from the overpass. Concealing my presence behind the thick grassy highlands, I positioned my magnified optical coordinates and patiently held my breath. An acquired position estimated nearly 550 yards, wind direction at 11 o'clock North East calculated 4 km/h. Taking 18% of its bullet kinetic energy at an original 928 m/s velocity. Slight drifting requires compensation, I adjusted my cross hairs slightly upwards diagonally to the west. Stiffness within my shoulders started to ache. My exhausted body slowly leaned towards the recoil pad of the SV-98. Though, the only disadvantage of mine, is the lack of stealth after a given shot. Muzzle flash, considering the loss of muzzle attachment, and the reverberating shockwave that'll give out my position.
*Gun shot! sparking flare effect appeared right before they could see it's light, a roaring sound delay travelled along the breeze.
"VICINITY HAS BEEN BREACHED!! TAKE COVER!!" Black Serpent Unit Leader declared.
Everyone changed their pace and stepped inside their fortified bunkers.
A 76.2x54mmR and .338 bullet core hit a metal structure. But, it was neither an ordinary mistake nor a mere childs play. It's a part of my scheme. As expected everyone without hesitating, had been wary of the area and took out their HK433 in automatic firing mode. As for that, I cranked a reloading phase. Some hostiles aimed both front and rear sights in a 30° shoulder level angle pointing to the nearby hills.
"Status report to Arms Commander, Black Serpent unit territory has been infiltrated. Long-range sniper's location is still unknown, engaging pinned combat situation sir, over!"
[Black Serpent back-up support will take half an hour. While on the way, split a rushing reconnaissance role, over.]
"Roger that!, bravo team encirclement at south, the rest shall overwatch your charge! 2 o'clock FIRE AT WILL!!" two guys ran towards the steep muddy slope, while the 4 men leaned themselves out of their cover and released scattered bullet shots. Precision clearly isn't a goal anymore, but an enemy's exposure. They went to take advantage of their numbers to overwhelm my lack of manpower. However, right before they could rush, I took a shot against the gasoline moisturized platform creating a large explosive spark, spreading crimson flames along the flowing combustible fluid. The first shot won't make the fuel tank explode due to less oxygen inside. Letting it gush out first was their first mistake.
"GRAHHH!!!" red flames caught their clothes and burned themselves.
"Bravo team, do you copy!??"
*Tensed screaming!
Or so I thought, the other guy activated his augma and killed the expanding fire around their figure. Creating a vacuum space that deleted oxygen intake of the spreading flames. After that, we made direct eye contact considering muzzle flash
"Squad leader! hostile position in sight! HIGH GROUNDS INBOUND at my 1!"
"COPY- CHARGEEE!!! SCORCH EM' DRYY!!"
[AFFIRMATIVE!]
The savage unit widened their gaps and approached the large streams of the overpass. Making my move, I lifted the carrying handle and placed the strapped weapon at my back. I've risen above the tedious basil colored trees, and stretched both hands overhead gripping at the branches.
Now that I've finished my first objective, I'll need to take care of these unworthy opponents of mine for now.
Slow footsteps echoed crunching dry soil throughout the forest. Every fiber unto my spine stayed still. Since all I've got is a sniper rifle, I have no other choice, however, everything is according to plan.
