I stare at the clock as it ticks further into the amount of hours I have spent listen to lectures, sitting in this auditorium like classroom, feeling like a tiny bug in a big vast world. I long for the days where during the first week of school, you slack off, but what was I expecting? This is college. This is learning to get a job to save up for when you're too old to work a job, then dying. Oh, god. Oh, no. What about living? What about having fun? What if I don-
"Jade?"
I snap my head up to see the professor squinting at a list. I'm not suprised. In my previous years of college, I have learned that it takes weeks for a professor to remember, let alone pronounce your name correctly, even the simplest. What are the odds? What are the odds that someone out of 106 people have the name Jade? I'm not complaining. I am by far relieved. Trust me, for the most part, I'm a good student. The scholarships speak for themselves, but who could blame me for Shakespeare losing my intrest? I know, theres more to life then classes and learning and tests and studying. I just want someone to show me that.
"Could you repeat what I just said?"
Oh. I see. A hardass. Every damn year. There just has to be that one. Well I suppose college isn't college without one. I think I'm a like able student. I also think I'm a like able person. At least I hope so. Sure, I have friends, and a long distance boyfriend. People like me to a certain extent, but sometimes, I feel like I'm a little bit of everything and can't completely relate to anyone. Sometimes I'm adventurous and spontaneous, but sometimes I'm a complete nerd and want to stay in all day and play Chutes and Ladders. I suppose, I'm unique. And I have yet to find someone who is like this.
