You sniffed up the bogeys in your nose. "I'm fine."

You didn't realise the sharpness to your tone until after you spoke.

"Okay, that's good!" George smiled. "I have something to tell you,"

"There's a new transfer student," he explained. "She joined after you left... we really hit it off."

"I really like her, y/n! I think we have something special."

"B-but..." you mutter, "what about us..?"

"Us?" he repeated with an anxious laugh. "What do you mean?"

"Hah! Nothing," tears were welling in your eyes.

"Okay," he said, "I hope this doesn't change anything between us."

"Don't worry."

Large, empty silence.

"Y/n, what did you mean by-"

You leave the party, cutting him off. You turn off your Xbox 360. The tears run freely down you face.

You dread school tomorrow.
