"I remembered the time, a beautiful memory back then where I was surrounded with every loved one. Each of everyone had a wondrous smile on their faces as we sat on the peak of Mount. Hulao" Zhongli muttered to himself as he stood in front of a tree with large shards of Cor Lapis, sprouting on it's roots. The golden leaves of the tree were gently cascading through the beat of the wind. "One particular comrade had stood out to me the most.."

"Rex Lapis, do you have any moment?"

On the foot of Mount Hulao.. There lies the geo lord on the grass as if taking a short moment to himself and rest. His eyes slowly fluttered open to see his companion, (Y/n) with a carefree smile on his face. He sat down next to Rex Lapis' side and quietly looked above the clouds in the sky.

"Of course (Y/n). I have plenty of time to talk" Rex Lapis replied, looking at (Y/n)'s direction and still lying down on the ground. "Is there something troubling you I presume?"

(Y/n) locked gazes with Rex Lapis let out a forced chuckle, "You can see right through me huh? There's no point in hiding things away from you.. but.. about the Archon War"

Rex Lapis slowly sat up as he heard the word. He grimaced then started shaking his head. He knows exactly what (Y/n) is worrying about and honestly, he's rather worried at the outcome as well. But he put up a strong front and placed a rest assuring pat on his head while giving off a warm smile.

"I won't let anything happen to you. I promise that"

(Y/n) smiled. He stood up and picked a glazed lily that was by the creek, "Guizhong must be near. Whenever Glazed Lilies sprout on a place where they don't usually grow, it's a symbol that she's near"

Rex Lapis chuckled as the male went back to his side. (Y/n) tucked the flower behind the lord's ear and smiled, "It looks great on you, Rex Lapis"

"...but I didn't fulfill that promise," Zhongli plastered a bitter smile on his face as he looked up on the tree. He walked upon the stone monument and placed a bouquet of glazed lilies.

"Rex Lapis!" (Y/n) cried out as he saw the lord of stone getting suffocated by Osial's oceanic dragon. Rex Lapis' eyes were slowly drooping down due to the loss of air while the lord of vortex was smirking on his premature victory. Osial raised his hand, a gold colored light appeared on his chest as a chess piece of some sort slowly floated away from him.

It was his gnosis.

While the other adepti were busy, (Y/n) went straight to the Guyun Forest to help out but he didn't imagine that he was a little too late. He made a ball with his fist and gritted his teeth as he felt that he was a useless adepti.

He wasn't like the guardians of the mountain nor like the vigilant yaksha.

Rex Lapis forcefully opened his eyes awake and saw (Y/n) running towards Osial with a strong grip on his weapon. His eyes opened and wanted to yell to stay away and help the other adepti but he couldn't find the strength to do so.

Before the gnosis could reach Osial's hands, he was tackled down by (Y/n). The water dragon that was suffocating Rex Lapis momentarily lost its grip and the gnosis was returned to the Lord of Stone.

Osial got furious and he casted a spell which erased all of (Y/n)'s memory. Those memories with Rex Lapis and the other adepti, those memories of laughing with each other's stories while relaxing at the peak of Mt. Hulao..

Gone.

(Y/n) felt light headed and heavy as he crumbled on the ground. What he didn't know was that his body was slowly turning into a dragon. A dragon made out of pure hatred in the world, Osial let out his hatred on the curse that it mindlessly filled the adepti with loath for the Lord of Stone.

Rex Lapis' eyes widened and he immediately pinned Osial down on the ground. The two lords fought each other until Rex Lapis victoriously pinned Osial on the ocean floor. As the Lord of Vortex screamed for mercy, the only thing that was on Rex Lapis' mind was when Osial cursed his companion for the rest of his life. He sealed Osial on the ocean floor for (Y/n).

But it wasn't over yet.

When Rex Lapis arose, there lies a ferocious dragon by the shore. It's red glaring eyes looked at the lord with pure hatred as it was getting ready to strike him down. But Rex Lapis only approached the dragon slowly. He placed his hand on top of the dragon's head and sensed (Y/n)'s powers sealed within the prehistoric animal.

But if (Y/n) could hear him, he wouldn't know who Rex Lapis was as his memories were all gone.

The other adepti arrived at the Guyun Forest and they were surprised at the sight of the stone dragon.

"Where's (Y/n)?" Guizhong asks as she scanned the whole area for the adepti but to no avail, she didn't see anything. She looked at Rex Lapis' mournful look and then back to the dragon as a gasp escaped her lips. "(Y/n).... no..."

Rex Lapis bitterly nodded, "I calmed him down so it wouldn't attack any of us for a period of time. Osial's hatred was transferred to him after he completely erased all of his memories"

Everyone fell silent.

Mountain Shaper proposed an idea to seal the dragon at the foot of Mt. Hulao where Rex Lapis and (Y/n) usually take a rest. It was a special place for them and Cloud Retainer was glad to guard (Y/n) as her abode was the closest amongst the others.

It was settled.

Zhongli crossed his arms and watched the golden leaves cascade. He noticed that there were small blue flowers sprouting on the grass along the tree and smiled, "You used to love Glazed Lilies.."

As (Y/n) got sealed, a single sapling had sprouted from the place where he got sealed. Rex Lapis looked on the tree and smiled, "Farewell, my old friend.."

Everyday, Cloud Retainer would fly down from the peak of Mt. Hulao where she would make rain fall down on the place where the sapling was. Until time passed that the sapling grew to an enormous, flourishing tree.

The other adepti would even visit the tree to make offerings and tell stories about their journeys. It was a way to convince themselves that (Y/n) was still alive, just sealed off.

"Zhongli, let's go?" The traveller called out towards the Lord of Stone. "I'm already finished picking out the violetgrass and cor lapis in the area. I think it's time to call it a day.."

Zhongli looked at the tree and smiled, "You still shine like gold in my memories (Y/n).."

He then walked to where the traveller and his other comrades were and they all teleported back to the harbor.
