°Jesse's POV°
Beep..
Beep...
Beep...
The beeping of the heart monitor filled the silent room.
Me, my sisters and father sat around the bed, where my mother is sleeping peacefully.
Suddenly, the beeping became faster.
Beep Beep...
Beep Beep...
Beep Beep...
My father quickly rushed out the room and called a doctor. Seconds later, they came running in and we were pushed outside of the room.
My eldest sister, Kianna, hugged me tightly, tears flowing freely down her cheeks.
"I-is m-mom gonna be o-okay," I asked as my own tears fell.
"She's going to be alright," she said, keeping her voice calm for my sake, but I can still hear the doubt in her voice.
After a few minutes, the doctor came out. My father got to his feet and asked the doctor, "How is she?" Hope evident in his voice. Hoping that my mother is alright.
But instead of giving us good news, the doctor said the words we were dreading to hear.
"I'm sorry. She didn't make it."
More tears flowed down my already wet cheeks as I heard this. I struggled out of my sister's hug.
"No! Mom! You can't leave us! No!"
"No!"
"Mom!" I jolted awake. My breathing heavy. I looked around and saw that it was just another dream that happened eleven years ago.
I looked at my alarn clock and groaned. I have five minutes left before it rings. I sighed.
Might as well get up, I thought.
I got out of bed and walked into the bathroom to bathe. After bathing, I went into my walk-in-closet and changed into black skinny-jeans, tank top, my signature black leather jacket and black knee-lengthed leather boots. Then, I dried my mid-back-lengthed jet black hair and let it flow freely on my back. Next, I applied some eyeliner and made a cat-eye look, cherry lip gloss and mascara to make my green eyes pop.
After approving my look in the mirror, I grabbed my keys, wallet, phone and backpack before going downstairs to the kitchen.
I snatched a granola bar from the cabinet and headed out, but not before being stopped by my second eldest sister, Reah. "Aren't you going to eat breakfast?"
"Nah. I don't want to be in the same room with a 'bitch' later on. If you know what I mean," I said, putting air quotes on the word bitch.
She chuckled. "Well, g'luck on your first day of senior year."
"If by senior year, you mean hell, then, thanks, I'm gonna need it. Bye!"
"Oh, yeah, Jesse!" My third sister, Olivia, called out just as I opened the front door.
"Yeah?"
"Red called. There's a competition tomorrow," she said.
"What time?"
"He said that we need to be there by eight."
"Oh, okay. Gotta go now!"
When I stepped out of the two-storey mansion, I was attacked by Hunter, a German Shephard, our guard and family dog.
"Hi, boy." I crouched down and petted him. Then, he ran back to his kennel, leaving me curious. When he ran back to me, he was holding a frisbee in his mouth. "Sorry, boy. I can't play now."
Like he understood me, he whimpered. "Don't worry. I'll take you to the park later. Okay?" Again, like he understood me, he wagged his tail quickly. "Bye, boy!"
I went into the garage and got in my silver Porsche 918 Spyder.
I know, I know. I have awesome taste in cars.
I put on my sunglasses, looked in the mirror and then I'm off.
