Chapter 1

The beginning

Running down a long never ending corridor, I was calling his name but not getting an answer in return. Blood covered the floors I continued running, trying to find him. I reached the end the only thing blocking my path was a black door; my hands trembled as a reached for the knob. It was cold as if one has touched it in ages; slowly turning the door creaked every inch it opened. My heart pounded against my chest could he be in this room. Applying more force the door completely opened, a man was standing with his back to me, I called his man slowly he turned around there he was in the flesh my dad. But something was off I closed my eyes for a few seconds, opening them quickly my father was completely changed he was decaying full of bullet holes.

I woke up in my bed breathing heavily and sweating. I had that dream again, that horrifying dream. I lost my father at a very young age, which could be the reason for them or it could be the fact that they never found the killer. Lying there thinking for a while my cell phone rung I already knew who it was becomes of the ringtone playing "Agent Ross."

"You're needed at the office" the voice said from the other in of the phone. Without saying another word I hung up the phone, took care of hygiene and got dressed and headed out to the office. Traffic was very light since it was so early in the morning. I arrived at the FBI building in less than a thirty minutes. "Your hurry early Agent Ross?" said the receptionist who greeted me every time I entered the building I was starting to think she wanted to date me.

"Yeah, I was called in. I guess something came up about my case."

"Oh well, um I'll see you later then."

I gave a quick two finger wave and headed upstairs. I really didn't want to be here, if there wasn't anything on my 'Black Star' case I'm going to be pissed. When I got to my office there were piles and piles of paper work that wasn't there last night. The moment I was going to take a seat my captain entered the room. Captain Williams is what people would call an average Joe; he didn't have any distinguishing features, which could explain why he's single and bitter. "We need you to analyze some evidence that just came." He said not meeting my eyes. "Well, what is?"

"Bullet fragments found in a corpse, since guns and bullets are your specialty we called you." Letting out a long sigh I walked to the medical examiner's office. The smell of death lingered through the hallways, meaning that the body just arrived a couple hours earlier. The doctors greeted me with a chart and a tray with pieces of bullets lying on it. I didn't even need to touch the bullets it's like my brain just locks on to the key points of it. "It's a bullet from a 9mm semi-automatic pistol, custom made." Everyone always looked so shocked when I analyzed, I guess it was weird to them. I just have a vast knowledge of firearms; I could analyze any weapon by sight or sound. It was gift of mine. "Anyway Captain Williams and news on Black Star" I asked

"No" he replied bitterly. He hated when I asked about the case, but I really didn't care about his attitude. I was going to solve this case and put an end to Black Star, just when I was about to react his cell phone rung. "Williams." I couldn't make out what the party on the other end was saying. "Alright, were on our way." Williams replied as he gave me his usual motion to come with him. He sped walked to the garage and got into his new black Mercedes. I could hardly believe that he was about to get a new car every few weeks especially on our income. Not really paying it any mind, I hopped in the passenger seat, as he drove off to the source of the call.

We arrived at the downtown bank of New York one of the biggest and heaviest guarded banks in New York. What on earth could be happening here? Several gun shots could be heard from the inside, it was as a robbery and judging from the sounds of the shots they were packing big military grade weapons. A few more shots were heard, 'AK-47' I thought to myself. The head officer in charge came over to the car Williams and I got out of the car to hear what he had to say.

"It's a robbery, several people have been killed the door has been barricaded none of our men can get inside."

"How did they manage to do all of this?" Williams asked

"We don't know, but somehow one of them got their hands on the guard uniform."

This was a pre-planned job it had to be, and the guys in there aren't amateurs. I glanced over at Williams I could tell he was deep in thought, but there was nothing we could do, but wait until it's over. Minutes later a helicopter could be heard approaching the scene, did the officers call in air support that would be pointless if they did. The helicopter hovered several feet away from the bank, like it was waiting for something. In a matter of seconds an explosion was seen on the roof of the bank the helicopter moved over the hole and lowered down a ladder. This is their escape route. Several men could be seen being raised up by copter one of them had a megaphone "This just goes to show you that your police suck and your guards even worse. How could people be safe if you couldn't stop a robbery? Before you rush in to save everyone don't they're all dead."

His tone of voice was so arrogant and cocky like he was sure he wouldn't get caught. He dropped the megaphone along with something else that I could barely see because of the distance but it was small and lightweight because it floated down slowly. Despite the man's warning the cops ran over to the bank ramming the door until whatever was blocking the door. The inside was horrible it was a scene from a horror movie. Bodies piled on top of each other, limbs scattered through the lobby and heads placed on counters in weird positions. These guys were sick crude people. "Logan look" I turned to the direction and there was a spray painted black star on the wall. "So this is there doing, should've known."
