Chapter 14

Next Morning...

Val's POV

I wake up to the sound of my alarm ringing on my phone.  I reach over to the night stand and grab my phone and turned it off.  I checked the time and it was 8am.  I feel so hungover from last night.  I placed my phone back on the night stand then stretched a bit in bed.  I hear light snores coming from the other side of the bed.  I forgot that Jay stayed over last night.  I looked at him and smiled.  I get out of bed quietly and picked up my bra from the drawer and put it on.  I put on matching panties then head over to Jay's side and opened the blinds. 

"Rise and shine sleepy boy" I said standing in front of him 

"Mmm what a nice view to wake up to" Jay groaned rubbing his eyes

"Oh stop it" I said pushing him lightly before walking away only for him to grab my arm and pull me on top of him 

"10 more minutes" he says before kissing me.  I kiss back of course.

"C'mon we need to get to work" I said in between kisses

I climbed off of him and headed to the bathroom to brush my teeth and shower.  After I shower, I curl my hair into loose waves then changed into black jeans and a yellow plaid top since I didn't have time to pick out my outfit last night since I was occupied. I did my makeup natural and then paired my outfit with some ankle boots. 

"Are you ready?" Jay asked

"Where'd you get clothes?" I asked

"I told you I was staying over last night.  I knew I would so I packed" he laughed

"Right" I said pushing past him

I grabbed my bag and we both headed out before Matt and Gabby got up.  We both went together to the precinct.  Once we got there, Voight had everything laid out on the desks.

"On this desk are the leads that Val and Kim have on the gang" Voight said

"Serg, you're gonna wanna see this" Atwater said signaling all of us over to his desk

"What do we got?" Voight asks

"Security street footage shows two potential male suspects lurking Val's neighborhood.  It shows approximately 100 yards away from her house" Atwater says

"Were you alone last night Valerie?" Voight asks

"No. Matt and Gabby were home as well" I said not mentioning Jay

"You sure it was just you three?" Jay smirks

"Of course" I said glaring at him

"I want all hands on deck.  Valerie is our top priority.  She will have us with her at all times until we catch these son of a bitches" Voight says

*walkie talkie* "Shots fired at police on Chestnut lane.  Two suspects on the run down west and east Hamilton road*

"That's my street." I said

"Everyone gear up and head out" Voight says

"What about me?" I asked

"Stay put here.  Don't go anywhere besides staying within this area" Voight says

"Page us if something happens" Antonio says handing me the walkie

"Absolutely" I said taking the walkie

Everyone gears up and prepares to head out.  I head into the locker room to where Jay was. 

"Be safe out there" I said helping him fasten his vest
