14: the fraud lover

"Arre, tum jaisi aurat pyaar ko samajh thi nahi hai! Tum bas apne pati par hukoom chalati ho. Tum do adults, jo ek dusre se pyaar karte hai, ko alag kar rahi hai, shaadi karwane se inkaar kar rahi ho. Tumhe kya lagta hai—tumhari opinion important hai?" Sunny laughed as he continuously taunted Pallavi. "Tum sirf aur sirf Raghav Rao ki biwi ho. Biwi bankar raho. Aise maamalon main tumhara taang mat uda. Tumhara jaga ghar ke andar hain... Ek kaam karo: apna pair kaato. Tabhi tum in sab cheezon mein apna taang nahi udagi," he finished with a proud smirk on his face.

The calm face of Pallavi provoked him even more because he wanted a rise out of her. So, he continued to speak nonsense.

"Mujhe laga tha ki tum Raghav se pyaar karti ho phir Keerthi ne mujhe bataya ki tumhari aur Raghav ka forced marriage hui thi. Tabhi toh mein sochu ki tumhari jaisi average-looking, middle class ladki Raghav Rao ko kaisa phasaya. Par samajh aana jaye tha ki tumne usko shayad blackmail kiya, reputation spoil ki, tab woh majboori mein tumse shaadi ki. Kyunki, you are nothing but a gold digger, Pallaviji," Sunny said. His aloof smile was still stuck on his face. "Tum apni kanji aankhon ke saath shayad duniya ko bewakoof bana sakti ho lekin mujhe nahi. Isiliye toh tum panaoti ho sab ke liye. Apne sasural mein dukh aur galat fehmi spread karti ho aur apne maikay ko embarrass karti ho. Shayad isi wajah se tumhare maa-baap tumhe chod kar chala gaya—upar." He pointed towards the high ceiling of the dim warehouse and chuckled. An audible shift from the corner of the warehouse diverted Pallavi's attention. It was as if someone was being held back and struggling in that hold.

Ignoring it, Pallavi remained quiet as a storm of anger brewed inside her. Her control over her emotions helped her stop the tears from escaping her eyes but she wasn't able to control her mouth for much longer. "W-Woh m-mein...tum kya bakwaas bol rahe ho?!" Pallavi purposely stuttered, trying to act guilty. Kya bakwaas kahaani rachai hai is bandar ne! Pallavi's lips thinned.

"Bakwaas nahi—sach bol raha hoon main," he said, looking at her challengingly. "Ab jab mujhe tumhara secret pata hai, tumhe mera ek kaam karna padega. Warna, mein seeda police station jaake complain likunga aur tum chaubees gante ki andar jail mein hogi."

Pallavi raised an eyebrow in surprise. Sunny has a demand? "Bolo."

"Tumhe Raghav ko convince karna padega ki woh apna complaint Ved ki against wapas le," Sunny said, his tone dead serious.

"Kyu? Woh ek reason ke liye jail ke andar hai."

"Kyunki woh mera bada bhai hai," Sunny revealed. "Aur uski zindagi toh Raghav Rao ne satyanash kar diya toh ab Mr. Rao ki baari hai."

Pallavi heard a grunt and an abrupt movement from the same corner while Sunny and her stood in the middle of the musty room. Not yet, please. She needed Sunny to reveal his true intentions. She needed Keerthi to hear what he had to say. Once Keerthi realizes the love he promised her was fake, she herself would decline the marriage offer.

"Raghav ki zindagi barbaad karoge tum? Mein unki patni bankar kuch nahi kar payi, tum kya karoge?" Pallavi asked, scoffing at him.

"Arre uske biwi se zyaada, uske behen mayane rak thi hai. Aur jab mein uske behen se shaadi karunga, phir torture karunga, toh Raghav Rao toot jayega jaise mein apne bhai ke liye toota hoon!" Sunny said and a breath of air left Pallavi's lips.

The truth was out.

Suddenly, a crash of boxes could be heard from the corner of the room and a harsh sob followed. Raghav Rao briskly walked out of the shadows and his target was Sunny's neck. The moment his hands came in contact with the tattoo artist's neck, he dragged him to the nearest wall and threw him against it.

Pallavi saw a kneeling Keerthi with tears streaming down her face as Farhad tried to comfort her while maintaining his distance. Pallavi immediately rushed over to her friend and hesitantly hugged Keerthi. The moment Pallavi's hands made contact with Keerthi's shoulders, Keerthi wailed and fell into Pallavi's embrace.

Farhad, after seeing that Anna's sister was taken care of, moved towards Anna's furious figure. As he came closer to the scene, he saw blood already escaping Sunny's mouth while Raghav pulled on the roots of his hair to get to him to look up at him.

"Tumhara himmat kaisa hua ke tum mera biwi ke baare mein aisa bakwaas bolne ko," he bellowed and slammed Sunny's head into the wall behind him. "Tum apne bheje mein dal, Pallavi mera biwi hai aur mein uska pati. Tumhare bhai aur tumhara wajah se mera parivaar dukh mein hai. Mera biwi ne mujhe aaj tak bas khushi hi diya hai kyunki tera tarah uska soch itna giraohua nahi hai aur woh sharminadagi waali harkat nahi karti.

"Agar tum phirse Pallavi ko disrespect karega, toh tera jeebh nahi hoga bolne ke liye. Aur aaj ke baad agar mein tumko Pallavi yaa Keerthi ki aas paas dekha, toh tere ankhen nahi hoga dekhne ke liye. Lastly, agar tumne kisi aur ladki ki saath yeh khel racha na, toh Raghav Rao se bura koi nahi hoga tere liye. Ardham ayinda?" Raghav finished and threw one final punch at the man's guts, not waiting for Sunny's nod of agreement.

He threw the weak body to the ground and ordered Farhad to call Swamy to get Sunny arrested. No one would ask him questions because he was Raghav Rao—he ruled this city. Disrespecting his family was like disrespecting him and he could handle anything except someone tearing down his respect. Pallavi was a part of his family now and the way Sunny spoke to her caused him to invite his own death. No one messed with Pallavi Raghav Rao and did not have hell to pay for it.

i was so frustrated with sunny for the past few episodes and could not handle the way he disrespected pallavi so many times. so i thought it's time for him to get his butt beat by raghav who is in protective husband mode. idk if this short oneshot is realistic because it shows raghav caring about how sunny insulted pallavi rather than him caring about sunny playing with keerthi's feelings. but raghvi is superior sooo i wrote what i thought was best :)
