The green flash flew past him and hit Dark in the chest, pinning him against the tree behind. Darks aura flickered between burning hot and equally burning cold in seconds. »And just like that, I get another chance to finish what I have begun.« He grinned as Anti walked towards them. The white eyed tried to pull out the crackling spear of energy, but it pushed back, pressing the air out of his lungs.
»I'm afraid it is the other way around,« Anti responded. He stopped and caught Annus's hand, but Unus managed to grab his arm.»You can't kill me,« the green apparition mocked. »Because you still think there's hope for Marvin.« He grabbed a knife from somewhere and stabbed towards Unus, who had to jump backwards. Anti's view tilted sideways and he found himself on the ground. With a worryingly large leap, Annus was next to him. He rolled sideways.
The whole scene came to a halt when a loud crack echoed through the trees.
A tear formed on top of the stone circle, ripping through the air all the way to the ground. The portal was open. For a brief second, it filled the whole area, then it began to shrink again. Anti let out a coarse laugh.
»What are you doing?« Annus hissed, slamming him against the ground. »Me? Nothing.« He grinned and spat out blood.
Dark watched as the scene, unable to free himself from the tree. The portal was already halfway closed. It they wanted to go, they'd have to do it now. He couldn't blame them. After all, he would have done the same. Unus yelled something at his friend, and the man in the white suit jumped through first. He could see the moment Unus made the most idiotic decision possible. He turned his back to the portal, ran towards him, and began pulling at the green bolt. He could feel it tear against his skin as he came free. Dark fell to the ground, blood soaking through his shirt. The portal was flickering.
He was pulled up, and the next thing he knew, the ground was gone. Gold and white and many colors danced before him. He closed his eyes. »I'm sorry, Unus.«Unus didn't hear him. He was thrown out onto hard earth next to Annus. Dark was nowhere to be seen.
Inside the machine, the portal stopped shrinking. Anti used the opportunity and threw himself forwards through the shimmering light.
For a minute, the stone circle laid quiet, then the sound of metal scratching over it's surface echoed through the air. The steel of A.M.Y.s body had been dented and broken in many places, but she was still functioning. The errors had escaped. She had to neutralize them once and for all.Blank waved his hand, and the portal closed behind her. It annoyed him that somebody else has had enough power to open it, but in the end, it was alright. His pieces were on the board. The story would fall apart soon enough. With a snap of his fingers, he disappeared.
The Machine layed empty.
