[1958, February, Ukraine]
Erik Magnus Lehnsherr had spent happy years with his small family in a small village in Ukraine, Erik struggled to adjust to the normal life, trying to recover from the worst tragedy of his life after leaving the concentration camp.
Erik tried to rebuild everything, he tried to make his life better, built a family, and worked hard to support them, he worked in the mines, and his salary was at least enough to fulfill his family's needs.
For that, he was very grateful for that simple life.
Erik and, his beloved wife, Magda had a beautiful 5-year-old daughter, her name was Anya. Erik loved her more than anything, he had promised to protect his daughter from the cruel world, never letting the cruelty of society touch her.
But all that peace didn't last long because all perfect things didn't last forever, the world scared Erik, how quickly people forget the war, and how the world succeeded in making fable about concentration camps, people act as if they were victims not perpetrators crime.
As the memories of his family begin to fade, death and horrible memories were now only silence and jokes for people–– those who denounce his blood and faith, Erik's anger grew, and with that anger, his power grew.
The anger churned in his chest, poisoning his heart and mind, yet it made him strong. Strange things began to happen, the metals sang to his will, and the people grew more afraid of him.
Erik had not used what he called the curse for a long time, the curse that had brought him to Shaw, the person who had torn his soul and left deep wounds and trauma that would never heal.
However, Magda could still make him bow, she asked Erik to consider whatever he wanted to do, she didn't want this happy simple life they have worked so hard to build to be destroyed just because of anger at the injustice of the world.
So Erik was still patient, he was patient for his daughter, doing everything he could so that Anya could have a much better life than himself and Magda.
But one day, the villagers burned his house, and all his miracles and happiness turned to ashes.
It happened when he came home from work, and saw smoke rising high into the air, fire burning down his house, and violent people threatening to kill.
"Magda..." Erik called Magda, he ran towards her, then hugged her, protecting her from the people there, Magda fell in his arms, shaking in fear and she begged Erik to save their daughter.
"Erik...Anya...save her" begged Magda, shaking, she told Erik that Anya was still in the house.
Erik looked into the house, feeling the heat of the fire threatening to melt his skin and bones, but he would still go inside, through the fire to save his little girl.
