The end

(cringe title. I understand lol. please bear with me. its my first time)

Four years ago

3rd person POV

His footsteps echoed in the dark. He touched the tip of his singed jacket and the words rung in his ears again.

~ " You fucking worthless piece of shit. You think you are on the same level as I am? Quirkless lowlife like you? You should just swan dive off a roof. I'm sure no one would even notice.", he snickered.

"Ka- Kacchan pleas- " ~

He wiped the spit and tears from his face. He looked like that might actually be an option worth considering.

Suddenly a green slimy arm grabs and lifts him up. It seeps into his clothes and fills the orifices of his body. He tries to scream and pull the viscous villain off him, but he can't move. His body slowly drained of energy, still he softly protested the monster. The boy fell limp, when a voice boomed in the alley.

All Might POV

"I AM HERE"

One quick punch and the villain was in two bottles ready to be sent to the police. It was no fun.

I scouted the alley. Apart from the young boy in the villain's grasp, there were two others. But they looked unharmed. I smiled and waved to reassure them but got no response.

Huh. Generally, people would beg to talk or even touch me. I shrugged the discomfort.

I awkwardly knelt down and shook the boy awake.

"Oh. Thank goodne- .." His eyes snapped open and he screamed, cutting me off "Al- All- ALLMIGHT"

I chuckled. That seemed to be more like what I normally experience.

He started mumbling and all I could catch was greatest hero – my whole life – save everyone.

He suddenly quietened and looked up at me. "I have a question to ask you. I- This is a little difficult to ask b-but can a person become a hero if they are quir-quirkless?", he whispered the last part.

Izuku POV

My hero. The person who I wanted to become. Standing in front of me. I couldn't fucking believe it.

I screamed and tears ran down my face. I wanted to be in this moment forever. I wanted to hug him and tell him how I wouldn't be here without him.

But the second I asked the question his face changed.

I know that look. It's how everyone looked at poor, quirkless Izuku Midoriya. It's how that wretched woman looked at me every single day.

But seeing it on your idol, the very reason for your meaningless existence, was a punch in the gut.

"I'm sorry..", he softly whispered.

I crawled away from him in disbelief. No. No. It can't be.

"NO. You said that everyone is a hero. NO. Y-You were supposed to say – " I choked on my tears.

I turned to see his pathetic face one last time but he'd already left.

An emptiness filled me.

I looked down at my caked and callous hands when I notice a man walking toward me.

"Are you alright, kid?, his voice echoed .

I look up to see a pair of ruby red eyes glinting. His pastel hair was softly waving.

He came closer and I whimpered.

"Yo-your hand -.."

He cut me off, " I saw what happened. Are you okay?"

I look back down. "i-I don't know anymore.."

He offered me his hand to help me up.

That's when I look in the direction he came from and notice a pile of dust slowing dissipating into the wind.

"I-I'm fine.", I managed, not deciding to tempt fate just yet. (um I don't even know his quirk yet. (?()

He chuckled. "A smart one."

He thrust his hand in my face again except this time he wore a glove that covered just his pinky finger.

"I can help you.", he said. I look at him puzzled.

He stared piercingly then smiled. "I have faith in you. Come with me and I- we will help you become stronger."

I search his face expecting to find a sadistic smirk but all I see is sincerity.

"F-Fa-Faith? Yo-You have faith in m-me?, I stammered.

"Of course.", he replied. "What's not to like? You obviously are extremely observant, make calculative assessments of people, and are very cute."

I blushed at the last comment.

This time I looked back with fierce determination and swatted his hand away.

No. I had to prove myself. The end to a string of misfortune.
