Chapter 13: Misfortunate

Ben

Ben is helping his sister Queen Cindy with some business papers. He is thinking about Pam and hoping he will be able to make it to his baby's birth. Ben wants to make enough money so he can buy a house for his wife and child. Ben is worry about being a father. Ben's mother Ivy has been trying to call him, but he did not return her calls. Ben knows that his mother is still not happy about him marrying Pam.

Someone is knocking on Ben bedroom's door. "Who is it?" Ben asks. "It is your sister," Queen Cindy replied. "Come on in," Ben replied. "Are you ok?" Queen Cindy asks. "I am worried about being a dad," Ben replied. "Ben, you are a good man. I know you are a good husband so I know you will be a great dad. You need to stop worrying because everyone worries about being a parent for the first time," Queen Cindy assure Ben. "Thank you, Cindy," Ben replied.

Pam

I have stomach pains all day. I worry that something is wrong with the baby. The pain is getting worst. I call the maid and tell her that I am in pain. The maid tells Queen Pollyanna that I am sick. Queen Pollyanna had the maid call the doctor. I am scared that I am going to lose the baby. The pain keeps getting worst. The doctor came rushing into my room. "I am afraid I have some sad news you lost the baby," The doctor told me.

I was really upset. I really wanted this baby, and I am worried about Ben. I am worried that he will be disappointed. Queen Pollyanna came walking into my room. "I am really sorry about the baby," Queen Pollyanna replied sadly. "I am worried about what I am going to say to Ben. He has been looking forward to becoming a father," I replied sadly. "You do not have to tell Ben about the baby until he gets home," Queen Pollyanna suggests.

I do not know how I am going to keep this from Ben. I did not want to upset him while he was working. I will take Queen Pollyanna's advice and I am going wait until Ben comes back to tell him about the baby. The doctor still wants me to stay in bed to recover. My heart is broken. My dad came to see me. "I am so sorry about the baby. Your mother had a miscarriage the first time she became pregnant. She took it pretty hard, but she recovered," Sam replied.

"I do not know how I am going to recover from this," I told my dad. "You will recover. It might take a while to recover, but you do have your family, your husband, and your friends. You and Ben can always try to have another child when you recover," my dad assures me. "I am glad you are here," I replied. "When are you going to tell your husband?" Sam asks. "I am not going to tell Ben about the baby until he comes back," I replied.
