Oh my god.

Why the hell does this always happen to me. Living a klutz life was definitely one filled with embarrassment and many bruises. Looking at the guy above me I saw a pair of dark eyes. I don't know why but I suddenly found myself comparing him to Tyler. His eyes weren't as warm and inviting as Tyler's, his arms around my waist did not send sparks through my body like Tyler's did. The smile that was slowly making its way across his face didn't make my stomach flip like any of Tyler's million smiles.

"Are you okay?" the guy suddenly asked making me realize that I was full on checking him out.

"Umm... yyah?" I said but I don't know if I was asking a question or not.

"You should really watch where you are going" he said with a slight smirk, "I might not have been here to catch you" He suddenly sets me upright on my feet and insures that I am steady on my feet before letting go and taking a step back in order to give me back my personal space. But he wasn't far enough in my opinion.

"So are you new around here? I haven't seen you before." He says giving me a quick lookover.

His look was making me feel uncomfortable, causing a chill to run down my body. There was definitely something about this guy that yelled player and I didn't like it.

Looking at his questioning look, I suddenly realized that he was waiting for an answer. God I was so not good with these social situations. Talking to new people is definitely not my forte and I usually freeze up before a conversation can happen. That is with everyone, except for Tyler.

Giving my head a shake I try the best I can to answer his question.

"Umm, yah I umm here with my aaunt this summer." I said not quite making eye contact.

"Oh cool," he said, " I'm Jason. Welcome to Glover's Cove. If you ever need someone to hang out with, just come find me. I'm always around here somewhere."

And with a quick wink he walks off towards what I'm guessing was his group of friends who distracted me in the first place. As I turned to walk into the store, there was a loud whistle from behind me.

I quickly turned around to look at the group again where Jason was standing looking at me.

"If you want," he said, "There's a party tonight at the falls. Drop by if you want." And with that him and his group started to make their way down the street away from me. I stood on the step watching until they were almost out of sight before I finally snapped out of my daze and went into the store.

What the heck just happened?

I have never been invited to a party. Unless you count a birthday party when I was ten then I have been invited to one party. But I didn't know what to do at a party. I didn't even know what went on at parties, except what I read in books.

Yah, there was no way I was going to that party.

With my mind made up, I started to look around the store for everything I needed. I found the bread and the meat for the sandwiches and then decided to pick up at bag of chips to go with it. Why not? I was on vacation.

With my load, I paid and left to go on the walk back to my aunt's house. But even with my mind decided, I still couldn't stop thinking about this so-called party tonight. What would it be like? How many people would be there? Would it be fun or completely boring?

So many questions that I honestly wanted the answers to but was too chicken to find out.

But thinking back to my actions back on that plane, I realized that I wasn't a chicken. Not in that moment. But that could have had something to do with the drop dead gorgeous guy sitting beside me. I don't know what it was with Tyler, but I felt so confident when I was with him. He made me feel comfortable and made me want to show him my true self. No one had every made me feel so safe in such a short period of time.
