y/n had been waiting for this moment for as long as she could remember. her letter had arrived, her wand, robes, and supplies bought. her ticket for the hogwarts express waited on her nightstand for this day. her father bought it two months in advance, before her letter had even arrived.

"y/n! get downstairs!" her mother's voice echoed through the home as she called for her daughter. her elder sister, Marguarite, was already dressed and rushed out of the bedroom to get to their parents.

y/n ran to her younger sisters' room to wake them up. caroline and helena were already awake, getting dressed to go to king's cross. they looked up at her and smiled. y/n waited for them to get dressed and walked downstairs with their sister.

sitting on their sofa, she saw her mother, older sister, and father waiting for her. she walked carefully, as though the ground would cave in if she took a single step wrongly. she hadn't been up long enough to deal with her mother's insults.

"darling, it's unladylike to be late. get your shoes on and grab your trunk so we can get their early," her mother spoke sternly, "i want you to get a compartment on the train with either a lestrange, black, or malfoy. no exceptions." she nodded as she sat to pull her shoes on.

y/n looked around, she had been at king's cross just two months ago to get her sister from the train, but still everything seemed so foreign to her. she saw three girls standing with a tall woman. the tallest child had unkempt, curly black hair, dark eyes, and a pale complexion. she was utterly terrifying. the second tallest had brown curls, that were pulled into ponytail with a silver ribbon, dark, kind eyes, and a slightly less pale skin tone. the clearly youngest girl had fair blonde hair, it wasn't as curly as the other two's. she had pale eyes, and was hidden behind the black haired girl.

"that brown-haired girl over there is andromeda black. you will befriend her, shes the same age as you, y/n." her father spoke, almost whispering.

"her hair is a mess. how could druella let bellatrix out of the house like that. appalling. honestly." her mother chimed.

the girl turned to look at them, glaring. she'd clearly heard y/n's mother comment on her hair. she rolled her eyes and turned back to her sisters.

y/n was terribly embarrassed by her mother's rudeness. how could she just say that?

all students to the hogwarts express. we will be departing in 30 minutes.

y/n and marguarite said their goodbyes and rushed to get on the train. they got a compartment in the back of the train, and waited. they heard footsteps approach and saw a blonde haired boy enter the compartment.

"oh hello lucius," marguarite spoke, her cheeks turned pink. he greeted them both and sat across from them. soon a taller boy with black hair entered.

"who are you, and what is your blood?" lucius asked as the boy went to step in. "rodolphus lestrange, pureblood, and you?"

"lucius malfoy, pureblood as well." he smiled. marguarite and y/n introduced themselves and spoke to the boys until two girls walked in.

"im sure we're all purebloods seeing as rodolphus is sitting here?" the girl she'd learned was bellatrix, spoke. her voice drew y/n in. she spoke with such authority. marguarite nodded.

andromeda sat beside y/n, bellatrix sat across from her.
