Ruby's POV
I put my phone in my jean pocket and look around while I hear my brother's voice. "Hey, Ruby. Are you ready to— is that really what you're wearin?" Scarz asks while eyeing my outfit up and down. I roll my eyes at him. "It's just a t-shirt, jacket and some jeans, Scarz. Why do you keep judging me on my outfit decisions?" I ask and cross my arms. He hugs me and pats me on the shoulder. "Well, someone needs to keep you in line. And it might as well be your big brother." He says then gently flicks my nose with his finger. "Wow...how so helpful you are." I say sarcastically. He chuckles and picks me up, giving me a piggy back ride. This sudden change throws me off guard. "Hey, Scarz! How about a little warning next time?" He just laughs. "Because you think you deserve a warning, eh?" I grab onto his shoulders and he starts to walk. "Come on, Ruby, you need to lighten up. I'm just pokin fun." My brother tells me. I hug him and start to giggle. "Yeah, you're right. I'm sorry.....I love you." I say faintly. "Heh, love you too." He keeps on walking with me on his back and we cross a bridge with water underneath shortly after. Scarz stumbles back in an instant. "Oh shoot!" He then chuckles as he senses my scared reaction while I punch him in the arm. "Not funny! Joking about the bridge about to break apart...that's not funny. Put me down." "Fine." He says then puts me down. We continue to start till we are halfway on the bridge and I turn away while laughing silently as that kind of made me laugh. I really do love Scarz. He really is funny and loving. Sadly though in the past, our parents moved away from us when we turned 7 and we were forced to live on our own. We have always had each others backs since then and we have always remained close. Seconds pass and he looks over to see me laughing and we stop to take a glance at the river. "What are you laughing about Ruby?" He asks. "Oh nothing. At least nothing for you to find out." I say and smile slightly. "Do I need to tickle the truth out of ya?" He says and instantly tickles me under my ribs. I laugh until I'm in tears. "Ok! I'll tell you!" I say and he stops. "What is it then?" "When you pretended the bridge was about to break, that was actually kind of funny." He chuckles. "I knew right away." He says then lays his arms on the bridge railing and leans on it while looking at the beautiful water flow. I stare too and hug him. "So...I hear you have a crush eh?" My eyes widen and I nod slowly. "Umm, y-yeah. We are actually dating." I say and blush slightly. "H-how did you find out?" I ask him while stuttering accidentally. He looks at me then smirks. "Come on. It's obvious. Every time someone brings his name up, you blush. You always spend time with him quite a bit too." I smile. "He's really amazing. I love him so much and....I really hope he wants to stay with me...forever." Scarz puts his hand on my shoulder. "I'm sure it will happen. I've seen him once but I haven't seen him enough to the point to where I can predict that or not. I don't even know his name either. All I'm saying is Ruby, I want you to make good decisions around him. If he harms you or hurts you mentally and or physically in anyway I want you to know that I will confront him and I want you to avoid him at all costs. Understand me?" I hesitate but nod. "Yes...I-I understand. But I promise you. Ricardo isn't anything like that. He's really sweet and protective over me. I know he would never do anything to hurt me." I say in confidence. Scars sighs a breathe of relief. "He better not. Or he's going to be sleeping with the fish." I look up at him and he moves his head, signaling to go. "I will admit." Scarz starts as we start walking again. "You both do make a cute couple." I smile. "Thank you. When we go into the bar, I promise that I can get you guys better acquainted." He nods. "Lead the way." I grab his hand and we walk to the only bar near the Amazon called Amazonia. Scarz opens and holds the door for me. I smile and walk through. I look around as I hear the door shut behind me but I don't see him anywhere. I spy an empty booth and nudge my brother. "I don't think he's here yet but there's an empty booth if you want to go sit down." He nods and we go walk to the booth and sit down. We both sit across from each other and he looks at a menu to see what drinks they have. I look at my menu too until I hear an all to familiar voice. "Hi there. May I join you guys?" I look up to see Ricardo and I instantly smile. Scarz looks at him and nods. "Sure." I pat the seat next to me and he sits down by me. Ricardo then wraps his arm around me and pulls me close to him. I hug him and lock my fingers with his and I kiss him on the chin. "How are you doing Ricardo?" My brother asks. Still holding my hand, my boyfriend responds calmly. "Doing pretty well. Thank you. And yourself?" Scarz smiles slightly. "Pretty good. My sister here invited me to Amazonia with her and...the thought of drinking and having a good time definitely sounded good to me. I wasn't one to pass down that offer." He says while stretching his arms.
