the world was scary and full of deep secrets. everything you do always has a bad meaning. "is smiling a bad thing? those people who laugh, cackle, and giggle, will they shut up once they see my perspective?" the lad thought.

we feel emotions everyday. "although, something bothers me. what about those who don't have emotions? will they even see life worth suffering for?" he mentally asked.

"emotions, they intrigue me," he accidentally said in which he immediately regretted doing so.

"eh? did this jaehyun loser just talk? i thought he never had a voice." the so-called highschool heartthrob scoffed.

the 'heartthrob' of soohyun high, park chanyeol. an old friend of jaehyun. was once a small, bright child, now a jerk who has a future— too dull to be seen.

jaehyun held back a scoff and pretended to read his book instead.

"hey, jung jaehyun, what the hell did you eat this morning that made you talk?" he tried to joke which made his friends chuckle.

the boy bit his cheeks, trying hard not to talk back.

"i'm talking to you, you little shit." he snatched the book jaehyun was reading, getting mad.

"park chanyeol, leave him alone." chaeyeon grabbed the book from his grip. "he's done nothing to you and yet you and your bored ass are here once again disturbing him."

"disturbing him? he can't even feel anything, ms. president of this class." said chanyeol.

"well, g—," chaeyeon was cut off by the ring of their school bell.

"nice, lunch. bye, losers." chanyeol grabbed his bag and purposely bumped into chaeyeon on his way out.

chaeyeon let out a frustrated sigh before handing jaehyun his book.

"are you okay?" she asked him, a tint of concern in her voice was heard. jaehyun nodded in response.

jung chaeyeon, the president of class 2-A. she is the school's girl crush. ever since jaehyun could remember, chaeyeon was always there for him. she's kind, friendly, and has a soothing voice— according to jaehyun.

"are you?" the boy glanced at the lass and back to the floor.

"yes, i am," chaeyeon gave him a reassuring smile, "do you wanna have lunch with me?"

"sure, you can go to the cafeteria first, i'll catch up." said jaehyun while placing the book inside his bag. "all right, pretty boy." she responded before leaving the classroom.

"pretty boy? that's new." his ears reddened.

jaehyun was back at the old music room. he tends to come here daily as his very own stress reliever. this music room was like his second home. he embraced the warm air inside the music room. here, he felt so free.

he was about to sing a song he usually sings until something nudged the box behind the curtain.

"what the hell?" his eyebrows furrowed.

"i-i'm sorry, mister." a voice of a girl was heard.

jaehyun was wondering how some girl ended up in this abandoned music room.

"i-i was having a panic attack, there were too many people and i kind of felt uncomfortable so like i sort of ran away and ended up here in your 'no no square', perhaps?" the girl spoke softly though jaehyun could tell that she was nervous.

"do you not like to be surrounded by people?" jaehyun politely asked, staring at the silhouette the girl reflected through the curtains. butterflies— butterflies filled his stomach.

"they... scare me." she said, the last phrase barely audible.

"how so?" jaehyun wiped off the dust on a spot before sitting down on it, hugging his knees and looking at the girl again.

"past experiences." she sighed.

jaehyun could feel the suffering the girl felt, she was vulnerable but no one cared because they were too selfish to be caring about how she feels.

"hey, miss stranger? do you mind if i put the curtains away? it's dusty there, you might get dirty."

silence.

then another.

jaehyun slowly reached out for the curtains and once it was in his reach, he gulped before sliding the curtains away.

butterflies. again.

the girl looked unbothered and her gaze went up to meet his.

pretty.

if ever i only meet her in my dreams, i wish i would live in dreamland for the rest of my life.

"jung jaehyun?" she read the name written on his id out lout.

"park—," jaehyun was cut off and was finally awake. it was only him and their teacher left in the classroom.
