Chapter 20:Tears

Anna cried her way back home, she noticed the weird look the driver gave her so she quickly dried her eyes. She stopped at the estate gate and walked back home, her make-up was already ruined.

She was glad when she saw Alexia car parked at the front of the house, she quickly entered inside the and saw Alexia and held unto her like a koala and wailed.

"Hey girle! What's wrong why you crying, do you want to talk about it?" Alexia asked not minding Anna's wet clothes. "Leo asked me to be his girlfriend" Anna said as she wiped her eyes.

"Then why the tears?" Alexia asked.

"You know my last experience from love and you know I don't want to get involved in this love cycle" Anna said.

"But have you developed feelings for him" Alexia asked.

"Maybe"

"Hey girl, I understand you, you should maybe think about this one more time and at least give love a last chance" Alexia said.

Anna nodded her head in agreement then she laid her head on Alexia's lap.

"You should go clean up, you look beautiful" Alexia said in sarcasm, "Hey! I know you're whining me" Anna said as she playfully hit her back.

Anna laid on her bed, looking up at the ceiling pondering over Leo's proposal, tears rolled down her eyes as she recalled her disasterous relationship moments. She stood up from the bed and went to the mirror and stared at her back as she traced the scar there, tears dropped from her eyes, cos there was a sorrowful story behind this, a sorrowful story that changed her entire life.

She wiped her tears off as her eyes met Leo's wet shirt on her, she smiled at when she remembered the waterfall, she couldn't lie to herself from these past months she had been with Leo she had that peace of mind she hasn't encountered for a long time. She could lie to herself but not her heart, she walked to her bed and shut her eyes to sleep these thoughts out.

After she left he headed straight to his car and picked up his phone and dialed her number but he halted he remembered he had to give her space to think so he dialed Alexia's number, he never thought he would call her number after exchanging numbers during their trip to the mall.

"Hello, who's this?"a feminine voice spoke.

"Hi Alexia, it's me Leo"

"Oh!"

"So how's Anna"

"Mmmm I presume she's alright, look I think you should give her some time to process things she's still trying to heal from her past wounds I hope you'll understand, she's trying to be strong but she isn't so bear with her"

"That's okay, my greetings to her, goodnight"

It was morning and Anna's eye bag were quite heavy she had cried a lot during the night, thank God it was Sunday so there wouldn't be any question from her colleagues.

She cleaned up got to Alexia's room and saw she was ready for church, she was quite shocked because she thought Alexia was gonna watch service online.

"Good morning" Anna said as she sat on Alexia's bed.

"Yh good morning, how was your night" Alexia asked as she drew her eye liner.

"Won't say it was good, what about you"

"Mine was okay, are you alright" Alexia said as she came over to sit beside Anna.

"Maybe, but his question keep ringing in my head"

"Darling, I know it might be hard for you but you have to let go of your past, you can't let your past determine your future, you need to let go of the pain Antonio caused you"

"But the scar, it keeps hunting me, I try to let go of the pain, but this scar keeps bringing back the pain" Anna said with tears in her eyes

"That's why you need someone that would make you forget about the scar"

"Mmmm, I really need to clear my mind"

"Maybe after we're return, you could go to the beach"

"Mmmm, that's a nice idea, come here crackhead" Anna said as she pulled Alexia in for a hug.

"Unfortunately this crackhead is your best friend and you love her"

"Go get ready, or else we'll be late for church" Anna said as she playfully spanked Alexia's butt.
