Dear Dorcas

Chapter 1

Dorcas was sitting at her desk looking at old photographs of her and her friends from their time at Hogwarts when she heard a familiar yet frantic tapping at her window "All right , all right ,calm down." She knew the bird was Marlene's as she saw it every day , you would think she would be bored of the sight of the bird but she could never get bored of Marlene . They're girlfriends you see (they started dating at the start of sixth year , not long after Sirius and Remus).
Taking the letter from the bird she sat down at her desk and turned it over so she could see her name in Marlene's beautiful writing 'Dorcas Meadowes'

The letter read ...

Dear Dorcas ,
It's been two weeks since we last saw each other as just the two of us but it is just too dangerous for us to be alone with 'he who shall not be named' gaining power and that . But when we win this war we will be able to to spend as much time together as we want . Y'know with everything that's been happening it's had me remembering our days at Hogwarts (I say that as if we didn't leave 3 years ago). One thing I remember so vividly is the day I knew I loved you . We were sat in the common room , Gryffindor had won against Slytherin and the party had sadly gotten disbanded by Old Dumbledore as Sirius had finally kissed Remus (took the idiot long enough) and so many people had cheered them on you could hear the noise from the other side of the building it was that loud . Afterwards you were sitting in front of the fire reading when I asked what you were reading (I knew what you were reading , I just wanted to talk to you) and you looked up at me , the light was catching your eyes , your smile was brighter than the fire . In that moment I knew that I wanted to be with you . Godric Dor I'm so cheesy . In all seriousness you are the best thing to ever happen to me Dorcas . Remember that time when someone started that God awful rumour in 6th year that Sirius and I were dating and you and Remus shut down the rumour by kissing me and Sirius in the great hall, it was our first kiss not my first kiss but it was the best as it was the first time I got that warm feeling in my tummy.
My time and paper runs short so I guess what I'm trying to say is , I love you Dorcas Meadowes and would you do me the honour of becoming my wife . I understand if not but if it's a yes I know someone who will marry us .

Without hesitation Dorcas got out her paper and quill and started writing.

A/N Hi , this is my first fic so any feedback is welcome (please let me know if I have made a spelling mistake or if grammar is incorrect so I can change it as my spelling isn't the best)

Side note I'm from England so my spelling may be a little different if you are used to the American way of spelling things
