Chapter 11

"What the hell Regina!" The doctor came into the room she was peacefully sleeping in. She took in what he said and didn't quite get the full extent until he spoke again. "Why didn't you tell me Emma has cancer!"
"Excuse me?" Regina had a bunch of drugs in her system but that she heard and understood.

"Emma...Emma she has breast cancer. It looks pretty progressed but I'm pretty sure she is getting treatment. I have no clue from where but she is."

"Boston." Regina said in a very low and hushed voice.

"I'm sorry what?"

"She lived in Boston. She must have gotten it and when she had to bring Henry back here, she must have stopped treatment. Why didn't she tell me? Why didn't she come here and continue treatment? This doesn't make any sense! How did you find out?"

"Well it was obvious from the scars on what's left of her breasts."

Regina was scared. She was upset but sad for Emma. She was about to go back to her house and have sex with Emma. Emma would have had to tell her then.

"Okay well um are you going to continue treatment?"

"Yes ma'am we will start right away. I just need you to sign for her."

"Why me?"

"Your the closest person she has here to family."

"Well, alright."

And Regina signed. They got Emma into radiation and gave her her medicine through her IV. They brought Emma into Regina's room when she woke up from the surgery.

"Hey baby." Regina spoke quietly but loud enough for the blonde to hear.

"Hey. Are you okay?"

"The better question is are you okay?"

"I hurt everywhere right now." The blonde scrunched her face in the pain on her right side. "I should have been paying attention. I'm so sorry, Regina. I'm so sorry."

"No baby it's okay, please don't, it will all be okay." Regina's voice calmed Emma.

"Okay."

"Go to sleep. I'll be here when you wake up and Mary Margaret is going to bring Henry in later. Get some sleep. Goodnight."

"Umh okay night."

And like that the blonde was out cold. Regina watched Emma peacefully sleeping and she relaxed her muscles enough to fall into a light sleep.

When Regina woke all she could think about was the doctor telling her about Emma and her cancer. It couldn't be that bad right? She looked over to Emma's bed and for the first time realized how small and flat Emma's chest was. Did Emma wear fake boobs? How didn't Regina notice when she got close to Emma and hugged her? She would have to discuss this with Emma. But not too soon. Emma needs to tell her for herself. The blonde will tell Regina when she's ready but if not, Regina will have to bring it up.

Henry won't be there until another 2 hours. Regina decided to go back to bed considering all the stuff that has happened in the last 24 hours. She'll talk to Emma after Henry's gone. But will Emma ever be the same to Regina if she knows Regina knows?
