I Love You
Three words is all you have to say back
If I don't hear them from your lips my heart won't be intact
I've said it to you, and now I wait
To see if you'll say it back, or if I was too late
Three simple words, but yet so complicated
I can't speak more, my tongue feels confiscated
It can have so much meaning, you can say it so many ways
Whatever you say, will affect all the rest of our days
I've had so many fantasies of this moment, and nightmares too
You nervously twirl your hair and bite your lip as I look at you
Maybe tonight my nightmares will reign true
But my love, I hope you know it's all up to you
One second too long, now two, now three
All the moments of us flash behind my eyes, the first time you looked at me
The pain is clear in my eyes, as I slowly turn my head away
I hope at least some other man is lucky enough to have you some day
Three words are suddenly whispered in my ear
I look in disbelief, and you're comfortingly near
I raise my eyebrows, and you nod that you're sure
I-Love-You, my heart clings to those words
