Alyssa walked upstairs to her room. She sat on her bed, just like how she did so before she even got here, which seemed like a long time ago.

There was nothing she could do. She looked around her room. All she could see where some royal furniture.

Other than that, she was curious what was inside the closet. She knew that she was supposed to put her clothes in there, but it was her first time here. She opened the closet and saw some books in there. As soon as she saw them, her eyes sparkled with interest.

Alyssa got some of them out, and soon began reading each and one of them. However, as her eyes moved to read another word, her eyelids started to feel heavier and heavier.

"I can continue tomorrow," Alyssa yawned. "Besides, today's been a tiring day. Better get some rest."

She then fell asleep.

                                                                                    ***

Alyssa opened her eyes sometime later. She looked outside the window, it was nearly nighttime. She raised her eyebrow. When did the people here in the Golden Kingdom usually eat dinner?

Suddenly, Alyssa heard a knock on her door. She rubbed her right eye and groaned. Unfortunately, she was still sleepy.
"Come in," she said.

A woman, with golden brown hair tied into a bun walked in. She was wearing a blue dress, with a white apron. Alyssa guessed she was a chef, or a maid - possibly both. The woman looked around her 20s, or 30s. Well, Alyssa wasn't sure, but she did look younger than Queen She looked at Alyssa with her gingery eyes.
"It's already time for dinner." she said.

Alyssa smiled, "Thank you, um..." she looked at the girl blankly.

"Marissa," The girl nodded.

"Marissa! Yes, yes, um... Thank you, Marissa. I was getting hungry after a while."

"It's no problem," Marissa shrugged. "Just head downstairs to the dining room. Queen Angelica and the others are ready."
Alyssa nodded, and she got off her bed and walked outside her room. When she headed there, Queen Angelica, Zalina, and Enna were there already. They still haven't started yet.

Enna was the first who noticed Alyssa, so she nodded in her direction. Alyssa sat down beside her. She stared at the food placed on the table. There were fruits in a massive plate, in the middle of the table. Roasted chicken, potatoes, carrots, and more. Some of the food Alyssa didn't recognize.

"Oh, you're here already, Alyssa," Queen Angelica said, with no expression.
Alyssa didn't respond, but she just nodded.

They ate up their dinner for half an hour, and they were finally done.

Queen Angelica turned to Enna and Zalina. "You two may go now."

Enna and Zalina nodded together and went out the door as Alyssa glanced at Queen Angelica. "What about me?"

Queen Angelica turned to Alyssa. Her eyes were not full of tears, but there were some tears in them, Alyssa could tell.

"Alyssa," Queen Angelica continued. "I supposed Zalina, or perhaps Enna has explained to you how you end up as a Lost Princess?"

Alyssa nodded. Though, she couldn't that recall what Zalina has told her. Their conversation kind of went like this.

Alyssa turned to Zalina beside her. "How did we become lost princesses?"

Zalina pursed her lips. "You do know the 4 forces, right?"

Alyssa nodded.

"Well," Zalina spread her hands. "We're their children. Technically, Enna's dad is King Aaron. He's in charge of the Diamond Castle in Denmark."

"Yeah, Zalina explained it to me," Alyssa said.

"Alright," Queen Angelica continued. "Alyssa, I'm going to tell you the truth now. I'm your mother."

Hearing this, Alyssa could not believe it. She doubted she was a child of Queen Angelica. But if she wasn't her child, then that meant she was a child of Queen Angelica.

"Prove it," Alyssa told Queen Angelica. "How are we related? Because I doubt you're my mother. Unless we get a DNA test."

Queen Angelica stared at her. Then, she sighed.

"Alyssa, I know you don't believe it, but it's true." Queen Angelica began. "Unlike the others, no I was not in a relationship with your supposedly not royal father. Enna and Zalina's parents, King Aaron and King Leonardo were in a relationship with their mothers. But as I said, I wasn't in a relationship with any guy that was supposed to be your father."

"I don't get it," Alyssa said. "I mean, I had a father and a mother. But how are you connected to them?"

"Well," Queen Angelica said. "I was married to your father, who was the king."

"King.." Alyssa remembered it all now. Her dad was named Aldrich, and somehow Alyssa's dad had the same name as him, and Alyssa thought it was only a coincidence. But now, she realized it wasn't a coincidence. It was actually him. "King Aldrich?!"

Queen Angelica nodded. "Yes. That was my husband. However, he's dead now I suppose."

"Blimey, yeah."

Alyssa remembered how he died. Well, she was only told my her mother how he died. Died in a car crash

"Wait," Alyssa said. "If he was your wife, but he married my step-mother and my step-mother gave birth to me, then aren't you supposed to be my step-mother instead of my mother?"

Queen Angelica pursed her lips. "Actually, your stepmother didn't give birth to you. I gave birth to you."

Alyssa's eyes widened. "What?"

"After I gave birth to you, your father took you and married your stepmother," Queen Angelica continued. "He didn't want you to find out immediately that you were a princess all along."

"Oh, alright." Alyssa couldn't help but grin. Queen Angelica was the most powerful in the four forces. This was how she was a Lost Princess? And her mother was the most powerful in the four forces. That meant she was probably the most powerful in the lost princesses, too.

Queen Angelica sighed. "Now, you know the truth, Alyssa. You know now why you are a lost princess."

"Yes I do," Alyssa said.

"You may go back to your room now," Queen Angelica told her.

Alyssa hesitated. She was still pretty shocked about what Queen Angelica had told her. "Thank you, mother." She said. Queen Angelica smiled. Thus, Alyssa Vernal walked outside and up the stairs she went to go back to her royal bedroom. This was her life now. She is now a princess.
