The Future
"I think my eyes are playing tricks on me but does anyone else see little Number Five?" Klaus called out.

Five felt all his siblings eyes on him but he was too sad to care. He marched up to the house.

Allison ran over to him. "Five, what happened? Are you alright?" Five shrugged her off, muttering, "Leave me alone,"

"Huh?" Allison wondered.

Five tried to hold on to the two blazers folding his arms across his chest. Both blazers were a bit threadbare but he held onto them as if they were his life source.

Five walked into the kitchen and made himself a peanut butter and marshmallow sandwich. "At least this feels like home," he muttered as he bit into the sandwich.

He could still feel people staring at him. He looked back at his siblings and said, "Fuck off, can't a guy eat in peace?"

"Take a chill pill," Klaus said as he danced through the kitchen.

Five glared at him as he continued eating his sandwich.

After washing up, Five went up the stairs to the bedrooms and stepped into Vanya's room. It was just like he remembered it back in 2002. The violin was still in its case on her bed, probably where she left it when she decided to go to the future with him.

He felt a tear fall on his cheek as he sat on her bed and stroked the violin case remembering the times she played it in the hut.

He felt a hand brush his shoulder, looked around and saw Ben sitting on the bed next to him.

"You okay, bro?" Ben asked smiling at him.

Five just wrapped his arms around Ben's neck and sobbed. Ben was taken aback but slowly wrapped his arms around Five.

"Vanya's gone..." Five sobbed into Ben's chest. "What do you mean?" Ben asked gently. "I... I killed her," Five said as he wiped his tears on Vanya's blazer which still smelled like her which made the tears fall faster.

"What do you mean you killed her?" Ben asked, his eyes widening.

"I..I left her alone and she tried to look for me and she... she froze..." Five cried.

"Five, it's not your fault..." Ben began, not really knowing what to say. Ben could feel tears in the back of his eyes but he tried to control them so that he could soothe Five.

"It is! If I didn't leave, she wouldn't have been trying to look for me!" Five yelled in agony.

Ben just hugged Five as they cried together.
