I was in my room getting ready for my get together with friends in my house. My friends normally go here every weekend to hangout like we always do.
I headed on to the mirror to see myself if I looked presentable enough. My brunette hair was wrapped in a bun and my fringe curled to the side. I wore a simple black dress, paired it with my black flats and a pearl necklace. My makeup was with a pink & gold eyeshadow and a thick layer of mascara & eyeliner. I headed downstairs where the pleasant aroma of food awaits me.
"Hey mom," I sat beside her, "Is the food ready?"
"Not yet. And it's not for your friends. Sorry," my mom said without even explaining.
"Wait, what?" I looked at her, confused.
"We're having a guest. Sorry, you have to invite your friends some other time," she said simply and easily as if it was nothing.
I just sighed in respone. Great. Now what will I do? I logged on to my facebook/twitter and told my friends that the hangout's cancelled. They asked why, but I was just too lazy to even reply. I sat on my bed. Someone - obviously my mom - knocked on the door.
"Come in," I said.
And she came right in and sat beside me.
"Hey, cheer up. It won't be that bad," she said while stroking my hair gently. That's what I love about her - she always is a loving and understanding mother.
"I know, I just feel tired," I lied.
"Don't worry, meeting our guest would be all worth getting ready for. It's a guy," she winked. I straightened up at the last word.
"A guy? Ooh, details!" I said excitedly.
"Well, he's handsome. Blonde. He's a good danc-" my mom was cut off by the sound of our doorbell.
"Oh and there he is at the door. I'll go get it. You set the table," she instructed me. We both went down and I went straight to the kitchen to set our dining table. I heard the front door close.
"Chloe, go to the living room. Our guest is here. I'll just set the table by myself. You should go and entertain our lovely guest," she smiled.
I nodded and started wonder how he looks like. Is he blonde or brunette? Is he tall? Is he handsome? Does he have blue or gray eyes? All of these questions were running through my mind. Until I saw a girl with blonde hair sitting on my couch. My eyes grew big. But mom said our guest is a male?.. I shook my head and sat down on the couch across her.
"Hey. My name's Chloe Nicole Evans. What's your name?" I smiled at the guest. I waited for a reply, but none came. She just stared at me. She looks like one of those porcelain dolls that stares deep into your soul, waiting for the right time to murder you. Creepy. I shrugged off that weird thought.
"Uhh, nevermind.. So, where are you from?" I asked cheerfully. Hoping she gets the hint that I'm actually trying to be nice to her. She opened her mouth to talk but was cut off by mom.
"Chloe! Min Ki! Time to eat!" she shouted.
"Come on, we should head on over to the dining room," I said to the strange guest. She's alot shy. We sat down and started to eat our food.
"So Min Ki, you've met my daughter Chloe," my mom started the conversation.
"She kind," she said. Her voice sounds like a guy's.
"You kinda have a manly voice for a girl, you know," I said curiously. I felt my mom kick me hard under the table.
"Our guest is a boy, Chloe," my mom gave me that don't-be-rude look. I tried my best to cover my laugh with a cough but I couldn't. My mom ignored me and said to Min Ki, "I'm sorry, my daughter has eyesight problems."
Min Ki just nodded. It's strange, he's just so quiet. And he wouldn't even look at me in the eye. Maybe he's tired?
"By the way Chloe, Min Ki is from Korea. He came here to LA, California to train for his debut. It was also suggested by his manager to learn english. And that's why he's staying with us. You have to teach him english," my mom explained. I just nodded and stood up to wash my plate.
As I was washing the dishes, I felt someone watching me. I looked to my right. It was Min Ki. He was staring at me.
"Oh hey, Min Ki," I smiled.
"Ren,"
"What?" I asked, confused.
"I'm Ren," Min Ki said.
We had eye contact but I broke it off soon. That's strange. He's so mysterious. Maybe he wants to be called 'Ren'?.. So I just continued washing and he walked away. Soon, I was done and went to my mom.
"Hey mom, I'm going to the mall. Just wanted to let you know. By the way, where's dad?" I said.
"Your dad's at work. He has a meeting. Oh and bring Min Ki along," she replied.
"Mom, that guy's strange. And he's probably tired from travelling all the way from Korea," I said, hoping she would buy it. I wanted to go shopping alone.
"Well, alright. But you have to talk to him, okay? Just try to make friends with him so he can adjust easily. He isn't here for a vacation, you know. He's here to train for his group to debut. And I want him to atleast make some friends here, alright?" Mom told me.
"Yeah, alright. Got it. I'm leaving now, bye!" I took my bag and went outside.

No Ren and Chloe moments yet, haha.
Please look forward to the next chapter guys! I'm sure there will be more of Ren. (:
