the ball

"Next up!" Aizawa called out as he clicked his pen to write, "(y/n) (l/n)!"

From the twenty students from Class 1-A, I walked from the crowd when I heard the teacher calling my name. I stood in front of him as he handed me a ball, instructing me to throw it as far away from there as possible. Aizawa made us do this "Quirk Apprehension Test" to see what we were made of, and said that the person who scored the lowest grade would drop out since they only needed 20 students from the 21 that were present.

I looked down at the ball as I positioned myself behind the line and threw it as weak as I could. It landed a few inches from me, and as Sensei wrote down my score on his papers, everyone went silent, including him.

Next up was the 50 meter dash, and I was the only one who took more than a minute to get to the other side. I just jogged my way to the finish line with no hurry whatsoever, and when I finished, I walked up toward the rest of the group to hide amongst the other students. In the end, I failed all of the fitness tests deliberately, and I could hear some of the students mumbling to themselves as they stared at me. But I didn't care at all about what they had to say to me.

"What's their deal?" mumbled a red haired boy, "Why are they so bad?"

"How could someone like them get into UA?" whispered a pink skinned girl.

"They don't look motivated to do this at all," said a guy with a large tail.

I sighed when I stood in front of the group, closing my eyes as I lowered my head.

"Are we done here, Sensei?" I questioned, exhausted, "Because I have stuff to do after school."

After I looked over my shoulder to look at Aizawa in the eye, someone approached me from the crowd of students with a boiling expression on their face, enraged.

"You... Do you think this is some type of game, you little punk?!" the boy with blond spiked hair declared, "This is serious! If you want to become a hero, then put in some effort, will you?!"

The boy trembled from how angry he was, grinding his teeth as he glared at me.

"Why did they even let a person like you get into this school?!" he shouted, "You're just a joke!"

I paused, thinking.

"I don't really know," I shrugged, "You should ask the principal. He's the one who let me in here."

Aizawa sighed, dismissing us before the crazy boy was able to scold me even more.
