~(Sup y'all. I was playing cornhole in the backyard the other day and this little story came to me and then my brain was like no you can ONLY write this now. Anyways there isn't really any ship in here just the gang hanging out. However if there was a ship I would say maybe a bit of Ben x Alex and a tad of Teddy x Gerard. Well I hope you enjoy and leave requests and/or constructive criticism!)~

"How?!" Ben cried, when he missed. Again.

The sunlight shone down on the small yard basking the boys in a golden white light. It was the perfect picture of a lazy afternoon. Rowan had invited the gang over after school to hang out for a bit. Gray was sitting in the shade of the porch helping Eugene study while Teddy was laying down playing with one of Rowan's cats (on the outside Teddy was mostly stoic but on the inside his thoughts were, He has cats!? How amazing is that!? And not just one, two cats! Pretty calico ones too!).

Meanwhile, Ben, Alex, Gerard and Rowan had to decided it was appropriate to play a game. And of the small amount of outdoor games Rowan had, they decided to play cornhole. While they were setting it up on the small swath of grass Rowan explained the rules; try to throw your beanbag into one of the holes on the board. There were three holes, the one closest to the bottom was worth 25 points, the one in the middle, 50 points, and the one at the top, 100 points. The board was also slanted making the 100-point hole the farthest away. They had decided that since there was six bean bags and four of them, they would take turns throwing three bags. The rules were simple and Rowan didn't waste much time explaining.

Once they started to play they found out quite a few interesting things. One, is that Gerard is a total beast in cornhole. On his first round he scored a total of 250 points. He was also the first one to start so it set a pretty high bar. Gogo wasn't half bad either, scoring 125 points in his first round (yeah, he landed it in the 50 two times but it still counts). Th most interesting thing they found out though was that Ben was absolutely terrible at cornhole.

His first try, he threw one bean bag too hard and it went over the board. He brushed this and adjusted his strength. When he threw the second bag it landed an inch in front of the board. Once again brushing it off, he attempted to throw his third bag. And this one made it to the board! But it slid right off the side.

"Dude, you're terrible," Alex had snickered.

"Now, now, Alex, be nice," Rowan defended, "This is his first time playing."

"Yes thank you, Rowan," Ben said, even though the others were snickering. But the fact is that Ben is terrible. Every shot he tried to make either went to far, didn't go far enough, slid off the board, or just didn't make it in the hole. Once he got frustrated and made an overhand throw that almost broke the board.

By this time the boys were howling with laughter. Even Gray and Eugene were having a hard time concentrating. They kept sparing glances at the other four boys and silently laughing with each other. Meanwhile Teddy and the cat, Rosie, had become the official specters, booing and cheering when needed. But he only really cheered when Gerard made points (which felt like every thirty seconds).

"Hey, Teddy, why are you only cheering for Broccoli?" Alex inquired with a smirk.

"Because he's the best. At cornhole." Teddy quickly added.

"Uh huh," Alex said only partially believing him.

"GAH! It shouldn't be this hard!" Ben cried.

"Can I try?" Everyone jumped back at the sound of the voice.

"Jeez, Gray do you make no sound?" Ben asked dramatically clutching a hand to his heart, "You almost gave me a heart attack!"

Gray put his hand and asked again, "Can I try?"

"Yeah but be careful. The board really hates me," Ben huffed

"That doesn't mean it'll hate Gray." Gerard retorted.

Despite their arguing Gray had positioned himself to throw the bean bag. He tossed it lightly and it landed on the side of the fifty point hole; not in it on the side of it. The next shots he took landed in the fifty and a hundred point holes.

"Alright not bad-"

"How??" Ben yelled "This is his first round and he already has more points than me! What is going on here?!" The other boys were doubling over in laughter. Even Gray was chuckling. Ben looked disappointed in his friends taunting. And then he got an idea.

"Hey shut up, SHUT UP. I'm a going to concentrate and think about what-"

"Don't think too hard, you might hurt yourself."

"Shut up, Gogo! I'm going to think about what I should do to beat this board."

"You know the board is an inanimate object, right?"

"Rowan, shush. Actually everybody shush. Now I am going to concentrate."

"Yeah you heard him, everybody hush," Gerard said sounding half sarcastic.

"Ok," Ben turned back to the board, bean bag in hand, "I can do this." He muttered to himself. While Ben was concentrating he became ignorant to the sound of someone frantically whispering, "Do it, do it, do it," and the quick rush of footsteps. Just as he was about to release the bag, he felt a weight upon his back and arms around his neck.

"AGH, HEY GET OFF!" Gogo laughed out loud in Bens ear. In an attempt to get him off, Ben threw his arms around causing him to release the bean bag. They all watched as the bean bag landed straight into the hundred point hole. No bounce off the board, no sliding into the hole, just straight in.

They were all stunned into silence for a moment, standing there blinking. Until suddenly-

"Gogo you stay there, you're my good-luck charm!"

"What, no! Let me go you crazy bastard!"

"Gerard, bean bag me!" Ben was now holding on to Alex's arms around his neck while Gerard was holding the other side of Gogo to make sure he didn't get down.

"I said let go of me!"

"You're the one who wanted to do this!" Gerard pointed out, grinning, as he handed Ben another bean bag. The others were howling with laughter but Ben couldn't hear anything over Gogo's yelling. He didn't mind. Gogo my good luck charm, Ben thought to himself with a smile.

He then deemed this true as he looked around at his idiotically, amazing friends. Because he was quite lucky to have friends like these.
