Hey guys,
So as requested here is a whole story that carries on from a one-shot that I wrote.
This is the initial one shot but I will carry on the story from here.
Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy

The whole team gathered around the front of the yard all nervously awaking the arrival of the new captain of 19. Since the skyscraper everyone knew that it wasn't going to be Andy who they all thought it should be. No one suspected that is would be jack so they knew they were awaiting the arrival of an outsider which made them even more nervous. Andy's head was all over the place, she didn't know how to think she was disappointed that it wasn't going to be her and she still wasn't on great terms with her dad however her and jack were going strong. Everyone knew about their relationship and they were talking about moving in together.

Very soon ripley Pruitt and a tall man approached the station they all looked at him, he had a stern look on his face. He had his hands on his hips and he took a quick glance at his new team. They all looked at him trying to get a gist on his vibes he definitely didn't seem like the type of guy that would go easy on them. Dean and jack glanced as each other since they recognised him from the academy. Everyone was silent for a short period of time before they heard "nineteen I would like to introduce you to your new captain, captain Robert Sullivan" ripley said while looking back and forth between Andy and jack before looking back at Pruitt.

Before anyone could welcome him and even say hello a deep voice emerged. "I have been brought here because ripley saw a need for some extra effort and good leadership here at nineteen. I'm sure I will get to know you a bit as time carries on but for right now your name tags on your uniform as enough. So let's go inside and get to work". Everyone was kind of surprised by his bluntness, he definitely wasn't someone  to mess around. Everyone looked at each other  and Robert started walking forward towards the front door of the station. Everyone slowly started to follow one by one walking into the station followed by Pruitt and ripley, they knew this was going to be a long shift.

Robert Sullivan had been at station 19 for two weeks and everyone was testing his patience not because they weren't doing their job right just the pure fact that everyone was always to close, to close to the patient they were treating in the aid car, victims that didn't make it out alive on big calls, or being loud during meals times. He liked space from everything and everyone, he liked distance separating feelings from work and even outside of work he liked to keep himself to himself. The team had invited him to join them for meal or go out for drinks with them after shift but he always declined never giving a real reason other than he is busy.

He had watched the team in fascination over the past two weeks, he had quickly noticed something going on between Herrera and Gibson but chose to ignore it since it didn't seem to effect their work. Ben was definitely a family man he always tried making conversation with Sullivan but he always kept his answers short especially when they were personal questions like if he was married. Miller seemed to be very good as his job loves running into fire and being efficient what Sullivan liked but he was very loud and yelled everything which Sullivan had pulled him up on a couple times. Hughes and Montgomery seemed to be the fun ones of the group always making everyone smiled they stayed clear of Sullivan trying to not get in his way which he weirdly appreciated. He wasn't sure of bishop sure she was a good firefighter but she would push anyone aside to get what she wants which can be dangerous when you need to rely on your team to help get you through the fire.

It was a quite afternoon at the station Sullivan decided he would get out of his office a bit more this shift since ripley told him he needed to make some bonds with the team so they could work better as a team, he reluctantly agreed. So that day him and Herrera were on aid car together. It was early afternoon before they got their first call but he quickly rushed to the aid car and got in the passenger-side since he was going to be in command.
