At first, it was just quick glances as you passed through the hortus, where Caecilius, your master, always seems to be resting. Then, it was short orders throughout the villa. It has now evolved into long walks through where you first met; the hortus.
On one of these particular walks, Caecilius sedet on the bench, and he gestured for you to do the same. "Melissa," he said "We need to talk". A million thoughts rush through your head. Did he find out about Grumio, your husband? Did Metella, his wife, find out about you two sneaking around in the forum? Did he find out about the baby?
Apparently not. "Melissa, we've been together for a very long time. I think we have some descisions to make. We need to figure some things out. Should we stay together and keep this our little secret? Or do we break it off, and come clean?" Well, what he doesn't know is that Quintus, his son, already knows. "Well, Caecilius, I think I really love you. I want to stay together...but what about Metella? She will find out soon enough, especially if we're not careful."
"Mmmmmm...I see what you are saying. But what if we were really careful? Say we only go to the forum while I'm supossed to be at my stall? Metella never comes around then, It'll be fine." "You promise only then?" "Yes, my dear, forever and always. And I love you too"
