Chapter Twelve

Theme: On a ride with you

👩🌹  TANIA'S POV🌹👩

   I climbed on the back of the bicycle and held onto Adrian's waist,i tried to escape his "is something wrong?" question by been so nervous on the bicycle,well i was actually nervous cos it had been so long since I was on a bicycle and Adrian was riding really fast,i could barely feel my feet. Meanwhile he was having so much fun cos he kept smiling as the wind blew through his hair, he's so dreamy.

    We finally came to a halt at a small bridge over the lakeside,it was really pretty with the moonlight. Adrian parked the bicycle and we climbed on the bridge and leaned on its side as we stared at the lake. For a while, there was a long awkward silence and I didn't know how to begin the conversation.

    "So .....uhm.....I see you wear this bracelet every time" Adrian said staring at the bracelet on my wrist.

    Finally a conversation starter "Yeah its very precious to me" I said.

   "Precious uhn? Who is it from? Your boyfriend?"

   "No.....from my twin sister. She got it at the mall when we were little and I've been wearing it ever since"

   "Wow! I never knew you were a twin,I've never seen your twin around.....boy or girl?"

    "A Girl....... And she's no more" I said as I swallowed in with pain.

   "Whoa! I'm really sorry.......I didn't mean to bring that up"

       "Its fine......so what about you,you got any siblings?"

    "Yeah,an older sister. But she doesn't stay with us anymore,its just my dad and I here"

  "I have an older brother,he's studying at Oxford......he hasn't been to this town yet,hopefully he comes soon"

  And that's how we dived into lots of topics regarding family and our lives, the part that I really wanted us to dive into was the part where he lied about not having a girlfriend, I didn't know if it was appropriate or would make me feel like a complete psycho. While I was hovering in my thoughts,it suddenly got cold and the rain started to fall.....Oh my! I didn't even notice the clouds gathered,of all things ......why rain!!😭😭

   Adrian and I ran off the bridge in search for a shade,we got pretty drenched before we saw a shade and it wasn't even comfortable. I was shivering with the cold,I had never stayed out while it was raining and even getting soaked,my hands went numb and my teeth were chattering. Adrian on the other hand didn't seem to shiver,he looked fine or probably he was pretending to be fine.

   He noticed how cold I was and he couldn't help it so he walked up to me and pulled me  close and gave me a tight hug. He wrapped his arms around me and so did I,i don't know how it happened or what I was feeling at that moment,but I felt really warm. You can imagine been drenched in the rain and feeling warm in each others arm,its like ice not melting in a mug of hot cocoa,strange uhn. I felt my heart beat increase as my body yearned for more than a cuddle,it was different.

    The rain stopped and I was still in Adrian's arm. Then the thought struck me that I was still in his arm then I slowly let go,our eyes met as I withdrew from his embrace and his stare fell on my lips,Gosh it might happen at this rate,I'm so nervous. And there it was,as he drew close and the gap between us was a breathe away,his face stuck on mine and his breathe ran through my neck as the heat crept through my skin,I was lost in this fantasy and couldn't wait for him to grab me tight and press his lips on mine.

   I already closed my eyes cos I knew the next move but his phone rang,why in the world will his stupid phone ring,aaarrrghhhhh!!!!!!.

   "Not again,I'd be on my way" Adrian said as he rushed to get his bicycle from where he parked it.

    He didn't even take a look at me, he seemed pissed and unhappy. He climbed on the bicycle and I did the same,I didn't even know how to grab his waist or shirt to hold onto,the atmosphere wasn't right and I was getting kinda nervous.

    He dropped me at home and was leaving for the same route we came from immediately.
   "Is something wrong,you seem tensed?"

  "Nothing,nothing.........you should go in,see ya later!"

   "Nothing's wrong and you are going for a ride after we just came back from one,talk to me" I said feeling concerned.

    "Tania,a lot of shitty things is going on and this isn't the right time to start burdening you with any of it......I'm sorry"

   "You can't leave if you don't tell me what's going on" I said in a high commanding tone,I was surprised myself.

   "OK,its about my Dad!!"
