The date was May 4th, 2021. Let's see what's happening in Negi Root City today. Vanessa Newton (VN02) and Ciel DuBlois were taking a walk together. Ciel noticed that Vanessa was walking kind of weird, but decided not to question it. Yet.
Ciel: Want to sit down?
VN02: Sure. How about over here?
Vanessa walked over to a bench and Ciel sat down beside her.
VN02: I saw Danielle (Dancer) around. Was your sister responsible for that?
Ciel: Yes. She revived her from the dead. She wanted to come back.
VN02: Yeah.
Ciel: Hey, Vanessa? Can I ask you a personal question?
VN02: Sure.
Ciel: While we were walking together, I noticed that you were walking kinda weird. What's up with that?
VN02: ...
Ciel: It's okay if you don't want to answer. I was just wondering.
VN02: No. You deserve to know. I was diagnosed with this condition where my muscles don't work like other people's muscles. My muscles are weaker.
Ciel: Oh.
VN02: I can't even carry a giant box around without getting tired.
Ciel: What can you still do?
VN02: I can still walk and run. But who knows how long that'll last? Ciel, in about 40 years or so, I'll die.
Ciel: And today is your 20th birthday.
VN02: Yeah.
Ciel: Well, I hope you live your life to the fullest.
VN02: Thanks.
And so, Ciel and Vanessa walked home.
