Chapter Sixteen

Theme: Pretty mad at you

   Well I guess its my turn to begin the chapter this time, you might not know much about me yet but you would soon enough, I guess you already know my family story is not a happy one and you also know that there's a possibility I might end up having a crush on my neighbor, well I'd leave that to you but I have a hunch that she likes me. She doesn't show it though but girls are always like that when they like someone, they'd keep it to themselves and pretend like nothing is going on,they lie!

   And if she doesn't like me,why is she in front of my workplace now staring at the window like she wants to swallow the kids. I've never seen her in this part of town before and where I work of all places,it can't be a coincidence. She probably stalked me.....again! That's how we met though,she was always showing up in places that I was so my hints tell me she's into me or she's just a lonely kid looking for a friend.

   And you are wondering how and why I'm working in a Daycare centre,well one way or the other I ended up here,not for the paycheck though but been with these kids is another therapy on its own. I'm supposed to be in school now and resume work in the afternoon but I ditched school today,speaking of school__isn't Miss.Pretty Stalker supposed to be in school by this time. Well I have to ask her and seeing how she's staring like she's not coming in__I have to go out myself ,so I caught the ice cream truck passing and whispered to the kids to run outside.

    I actually acted like i was running after the kids to go back inside,I just did that to draw her attention. OK! I think she has seen me properly with the look on her face.

  😳  TANIA'S POV😳

" OMG!!!"

Those were the words that escaped from my mouth when I saw the guy attending to the kids. Was that Adrian? What's he doing here? Shouldn't he be in school? OK I'm not in school so I don't think I'm in the position to ask about school right now. This is not good......he's gonna think i stalked him for real this time,I better leave. He was busy organizing the kids that he didn't notice me so I turned my back and started leaving.

   "You come all the way here and that's how you say 'hi' " Adrian said.

   OK he caught me,now let's turn our back Tania in shame and put on an amusing smile.
"Oh my gosh! Its you!.....I did not see you there,how did you know I was the one?"

   "I have a pretty sharp sight" Adrian said with a charming smile.

   This moment was awkward,I'm supposed to be pissed at him for leaving and not calling or texting,but here I was melting at his smile and my heart pounding cos of his presence. This is ridiculous! And the silence between us made it more ridiculous, it would be nice if Adrian said something now and stopped focusing on the kids.

   "Would you like to come in?!" Adrian asked as he was assembling the kids to go inside.

  "Ohh.....uhm......yeah.....sure......totally" Why the hell am I stuttering, its Adrian after all not a new guy or a total stranger,aargh!

   Adrian took me to the Daycare's play ground with the swings and other fun things for kids, it was quiet since all the kids were inside. We both sat on the swing and started a conversation.

   "So......uhm.....you work here??"

    "Yeah I do" Adrian replied.

  "That was least expected,never knew you loved kids" Did I say that right,I hope it doesn't offend him.

    "You really thought that far?! And you have never seen me with a kid before and you drew such a conclusion"

   "No no,I'm sorry....no offence...... I just thought you'd be doing cooler jobs__you know" I said as I stuttered.

   "Cooler jobs like........ Playing basketball on a sport team or probably a car racer??"

   "Kinda.......yeah jobs like that" I said as I felt uncomfortable because it seemed like I was looking down on him.

   "I actually love my job.......I don't have to bend or scratch my knees,its really safe__all I do is be myself around these kids. They are really amazing, if everyone were like children,so joyful and free-spirited,this world will be a beautiful place to live in" Adrian said.

     There was a lot of truth in what Adrian said,children hold no grudges and they are so joyful. It brought memories of Tonia and I as little kids,days when we sang and laughed together were all the happiest moments in my life until everything ended. There I was,having a replay of the past with my twin in my head,its funny how a conversation with Adrian did that to me.

    "What about you..........what are you doing here??" Adrian asked.

    "I,uhm__came to get this journal at the bookstore" I replied as I showed him the journal with me.

   "What do you need it for??.....A diary??"

  "No no__it's for writing stuffs down"

    "Stuffs like??"

  I don't know why he was suddenly interested in what I wanted to write in the journal,okay here I go "I got interested in Adolph Hitler's biography and some other people too,so I decided to write it down so i won't forget"

   "Wow, Adolph Hitler's biography uhn.......let's see what you got"

   "OK uhm..... Adolph Hitler was a German politician and he was the leader of Nazi political party"

   And that was how we dived into the world of History,I could bet I was almost as good as Bianca.

   "Well that's quite alot you got on Adolph Hitler  but you know he was ruthless,millions of people died during the Holocaust and world war II that he started and he had lots of selfish quotes,one of em was__It is not truth that matters but victory" Adrian said.

   "He was a typical politician figure that sought for nothing but victory" I said.

   "Yeah,History class can be pretty interesting and sometimes boring if you got your head in the clouds somewhere"

   Adrian was a book guru_it was that obvious and it made him even more charming. Now I see why he went for a girl like Bianca,he wouldn't settle for less. Well after a quiz like convo,I decided to take my leave,I would have loved to stay but he was at work and I shouldn't stay too long. He walked me to where I could get a taxi and while I was being quiet and observing everything around me,Adrian said something that caught me.

   "Why didn't you go to school today,did you perhaps follow your boyfriend-to-be to work today.......probably cos you missed  him"

  OK I don't know where this is coming from but was he messing with me,this is the second time he's using the line boyfriend-to-be with me after lying to my face that he had no girlfriend. He definitely was messing with me, I got pretty mad and the words I uttered weren't nice.

   "You always think I follow you, like what are you,my nanny.......and excuse me! Boyfriend-to-be.... .seriously, I wonder how many girls you tell that to and you make their heart flutter like bees,you lying whore!" And I entered the taxi that was waiting.

   Damn! I wasn't expecting that from me,I didn't just lambaste Adrian with words but I also walked out on him. OK now I feel bad,did I over react..... Oh my! What have I done!😣😫
