We sat down at the edge of her bed. Pam handed me a soft pillow, which I clutched gratefully as I sniffled, "I can't believe it. I know you won't either."

"What do you mean?" she asked, bewildered.

"Simon has a girlfriend."

She gasped. "How-how did you find out?" she slightly stammered.

I told her about how both of my dreams had come true. Although I left out the part I saw about Uncle Rob. I didn't want to worry her or myself about the possibility of that being true as well. I also left out the part about her..

"I-I really can't believe it.." she blanched. She also looked almost guilty.

I narrowed my eyes. "Did you know..? About Simon?" I asked.

"I-No! Why would I know that?!" she blushed in embarrassment.

"You did. I can't believe you kept that from me."

"No! Willow, I thought- I thought they'd have broken up by now. I only recently found out.." she said as her face grew redder.

"Tell me the truth." my face began to redden as well.

"I'm not lying! I asked him a week ago if he was dating anyone, and he said yes! I didn't want to tell you then because of your grandma. I-I hoped that they would somehow breakup, or you'd find out soon enough. I didn't want to tell you myself.. I didn't want to see you cry like this.. Much less make you." she said, blushing, her eyes watering slightly.

I sighed. I knew she was telling the truth. But something told me it wasn't the entire truth.. No matter. I tried to push it down. This was Pam. If I couldn't trust her, who else could I?

"Well, let's not dwell on it too much. The past is past." I dried my tears, as she dried hers. "What do you think about the fact that my DREAM CAME TRUE?!"

"Oh. My. Gosh. I can't even begin to understand what that even means." she tried to chuckle, shaking her head. She looked glad to change the subject. Though I felt the same, I couldn't feel glad about what the new subject implied.

I told her about what Grandma had said to me, right before she had died in my arms. All the while trying to fight the dam in my eyes.

She looked utterly abashed. I couldn't blame her.

"S-so you're telling me.. that your magic necklace is giving you fortune telling powers through dreams?" She laughed, "Are you sure?"

"Yeah, pretty sure. I know you won't believe me, how could anyone. I can't believe myself. But know that I would never lie to you." I said the last part a little defiantly. I still felt something was off with Pam, and I knew she could tell.

She sighed. "Look, I'm really sorry I didn't tell you anything. I would never do something like that to you. I.. I care about you. A lot." She gazed into my eyes, which gleamed like impregnable obsidian. I had never noticed how beautiful they were. "I trust you. And I absolutely believe you." She put a hand on my shoulder in a show of support.

I felt a strange warmth. And soon after a bout of butterflies. I couldn't understand why.

"Thank you.." I said, trying to keep my voice steady, though not due to tears.

She smiled. Her eyes crinkled from the motion. She looked beautiful in the diffused daylight. It felt weird, and I didn't know why.. It tried to ignore it. I smiled in return.

"w-Well, I guess I should head back home now.. Mom will be waiting.." I managed.

"Hey, I can't believe I almost forgot! Happy birthday! Willow— 15! Can't believe the day has arrived!" She beamed.

"Thanks Pam.." I tried for a grin. I felt even more guilty of my preoccupations.

Apparently Pam could tell. She said, "Hey, don't beat yourself up. It's okay. Whatever happened, happened. There's no use brooding over the past. We can think about it later. Today is an auspicious day. Let's celebrate!" She clapped my back.

"Okay, okay.." I couldn't help but grin this time. She really did get me, and knew how to turn my mood around. This was the weirdest thing that had ever happened to me, for sure. Was it terrifying? Absolutely. But was I going to waste my birthday wallowing over it? Absolutely not.

"Let's celebrate, then." I said. Pam hugged me. I blushed. Damn it. When she pulled away, I thought I caught her blushing as well.. Or was that just my imagination? Whatever.

"Did I hear anyone say cElEbRaTe??" came a loud voice from outside the door.
