Chiko stood in front of the gates to U.A, his heart pounding loudly in his chest. The very same school his dad, number one pro hero Deku, went to at his age.

‘This is it!’ He thought to himself. ‘Finally,
16 years of waiting, I get to go to U.A! I wonder what my classmates will be like…’

“Chiko! There you are!”

Chiko gasped and turned around. His two best friends from grade school, Homura and Kazahana Todoroki, were currently running towards him.

Well, Kazahana was the one running, her twin calmly walking behind her. Her long, light purple hair swayed behind her, while Homura’s dark magenta hair had been brushed and cut somewhat short.
Kazahana finally reached Chiko, immediately putting him in a headlock and affectionately ruffling his hair.

“This is awesome, huh?! We got into U.A!”

Chiko chuckled a little, trying to pry himself from Kaza’s grasp.

“Kaza, be careful with him,” Homura said as he walked up.
“You might break him like a chopstick.”

Kaza rolled her eyes and released Chiko.

“Homura, come on! That was one time while I was eating soba. One time.”

Homura ruffled his sister’s hair, smiling lightly.

“And I’ll never let you live it down.”

Kaza let out an annoyed grunt and pushed Homura’s hand away. Both Homura and Chiko chuckled, Chiko fixing his short, light brown hair.

“Hey, you three celebrating without us?!” Said two male voices, in perfect unison. They all looked behind them, finding the Bakugo twins walking up.

Fuji, the older twin brother, had spiky brown hair, while his twin, Hiroto, had long, ash blonde hair in a low ponytail. They both had pale green eyes.

Kaza folded her arms at them.

“Well, if you two weren’t such slowpokes, then maybe we’d be celebrating with you.”

The twins laughed.

“Oh, Kaza. I see you haven’t changed.” Said Fuji, patting Kaza’s shoulder.

“Neither have you, Fuji.”

“So,” Hiroto began. “Should we be getting inside?”

The four others all nodded. Hiroto grinned.

“Race you inside!”

He then took off, leaving the others in his dust.

“No fair!” Kaza and Fuji cried out, taking off after him. Homura rolled his eyes and calmly followed, leaving Chiko alone at the entrance. Not that it bothered him, he liked his space most of the time.

“U.A, here I come!” He giggled to himself.

He took a couple of steps but then spotted someone closeby. They stood near the archway, facing away from Chiko. They wore a black hoodie under their U.A uniform. He could see their hands moving as if they were talking to someone. Curious, he walked up to them.

“You can do this, Takara! You’ll be fine, just remember what Dad said...don’t let anybody touch your skin and everything’s gonna be--”

“Excuse me? Are you okay?”

Chiko gently put a hand over their shoulder. They flinched hard, and Chiko immediately took his hand off them. They spun around, eyes wide, and a hand placed over the shoulder Chiko grabbed.

“Don’t.” They whispered.

“Um--I-I’m sorry, don’t--Don’t what?”

“Don’t touch me. Please. For your own good.” They shook their head lightly as they spoke, silvery-blue hair in low pigtails poking out beneath their black hood.

Chiko tilted his head but nodded.

“O-Okay. What’s your name?”

They looked down, debating whether or not to say anything more. Chiko could sense the uncomfortable air around them, so he took the initiative of introducing himself first.

“I’m Chiko Midoriya.”

They played with the black gloves on their hands, before sighing and mumbling their name.

“T-Takara...Shigaraki...”

Chiko’s eyes widened. His dad had told him about Tomura Shigaraki before, calling him the most insane villain he’d ever faced. He racked his brain for his Quirk, his Quirk being a clue to Takara’s.

“You--you’ve probably heard of my--my dad, right…?” Takara stammered, still playing with her gloves. Chiko nodded.

“Um, y-yeah...my dad called him the ‘Most insane’ villain he’d ever faced.”

Takara nodded.

“But I won’t judge you by your parent’s actions if that’s what you want…” Chiko said. Takara gasped and mumbled a ‘thank you’.

“Th-that’s really kind of you, M-Midoriya.”

“Well, yeah. We aren’t defined by our parents, right?”

Takara lifted her head and smiled just the slightest bit. “Yeah, I suppose not…”

The bell suddenly rang, cutting through the calm atmosphere around them. They both gasped, and Takara flinched slightly.

“Oh no! We’ll be late! C’mon, Shigaraki!”

He suddenly grabbed her arm, and she violently pulled away. She looked at his hand in fear, then back at her arm.
The look of pure fear in her eyes was something Chiko was never going to forget, no matter how hard he tried.

“I told you not to touch me, please!” Takara cried out.
“For your own safety, please, never touch me again…”

She quickly ran ahead of him, mumbling to herself. Chiko whined but quickly broke into a run after her. She was much faster, however, and he lost sight of her in the crowd. He sighed and resigned himself to just getting into the building.

He examined the other students as he walked to the entrance. Someone had multiple arms, another person had bright red hair, somebody else had purple-and-green balls on their hair, the list went on.

‘So many people!’ Chiko thought to himself. ‘And all with such amazing Quirks! It’s scary almost…’

He pushed those thoughts aside as he entered the building. He needed to make his dad proud. And his mom. And, most importantly, his little sister Akiko, whose Quirk hadn’t developed quite yet.

He was ready. To go beyond.

‘Plus Ultra, am I right?’
